Manfrotto 7321YB 4-Section Aluminum Tripod w/ 3-Way Head - Supports 5.5 lbs (2.5kg)
The Manfrotto 7321YB Tripod is a very compact and light tripod designed for first-time buyers of compact point and shoot cameras. It has 22mm maximum upper diameter leg segments and a 3-way head with separate pan/tilt locks and a quick release plate.
The 7321YB's small head allows smooth motion and panning for light-duty video cameras, but can also achieve any position necessary for a still camera. The 7321YB's only 2.8 pounds and 19.3" when collapsed, making it appropriate for carrying on even the very longest of journeys.

I deducted one star as the video head is not smooth to operate when filming video. The quality of the head does not match the legs, but the head is not removable.

It's a nice tripod, if you used it with small cameras. I started with a Rebel XT but then moved on to a 50D. I killed the tripod when I was trying to mount the Panosaurus on top of it. I knew the tripod was't designed to handle that much weight...
Anyways, I am buying a tougher tripod, but I think this one is good for beginners, assuming you know its limitations.
