It features an AM/FM A/V receiver with an integrated progressive scan DVD/CD 5-disc player, 1080p HD video upconversion, S-AIR wireless audio technology, BRAVIA Theater Sync, and 1000W of heart thumping power. Sony also includes a sophisticated 5.1-channel speaker system that's capable of delivering a full, clear, and tight sound response. It consists of (2) tower satellite speakers, (2) surround satellite speakers, (1) center speaker, and a powerful 280W bass-reflex subwoofer.
Advanced S-Master digital amplification, 192KHz/24-bit DAC audio processing, and built-in Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro-Logic II, and DTS decoders offer the ability to reproduce a wider, more enveloping surround sound experience. In addition, the DAV-HDX587WC features Digital Cinema Auto Calibration, Portable Audio Enhancer, MP3 and SA-CD playback, Digital Media Port (DMP) for connectivity to your favorite digital music player, and an iPod docking station.

With this system you have the ability to listen to your favorite music or audio from your TV in other rooms throughout your home (wireless). S-AIR technology automatically syncs to allow multi-room listening through simple, wireless plug-and-play technology while letting you control what you listen to. The system can support additional S-AIR units in addition to the included AIR-SA10 S-AIR receiver.
The AIR-SA10 offers the ability to expand your surround sound home theater system without making unnecessary holes in your walls or floors. An optional WAHT-SA10 wireless surround amplifier eliminates the need to run messy wiring from the back of the receiver to rear speakers located across the room.
- High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) with 1080p Upconversion
- If you're looking to pump high-definition DVD playback into your compatible HD plasma, LCD display, or projector, this system will do the job. It has an integrated digital processor capable of upconverting video signals to 720p, 1080i, and 1080p through the HDMI output.
