Plasma is the display technology of choice among home video equipment reviewers. Panasonic has refined this flat-panel technology further with its Neo PDP (plasma display panel) technology combining full-time 1080 TV lines of moving picture resolution; a native 40,000:1 contrast ratio; an Infinite Black Panel; and an anti-reflective filter. Add to that a 600Hz sub-field drive for reproducing the fastest action that broadcasters can throw at it, and the TC-P42S1 is the TV to beat.

Comments about Panasonic TC-P42S1 42" Viera S1 Series Plasma HDTV:
Having just recently purchased the product, I am still in the exploratory phase of what it can do. From what I have discovered thus far, this product has a lot of capability for a reasonable price. I chose this product based on the reviews posted at CNET.com. I am very happy with this product. Would I purchase this product again? Absolutely!

Comments about Panasonic TC-P42S1 42" Viera S1 Series Plasma HDTV:
[...] It was easy to hook up since we use the TV as a monitor plugged into the stereo system. The picture is very good, expecially in the letterbox mode (zoom). Glare is minimal. My only complaint isn't with set but with broadcasters. With ownership of flat screen TVs increasing, more programs should use the letterbox format.

Comments about Panasonic TC-P42S1 42" Viera S1 Series Plasma HDTV:
I use this TV most for movies and video games and the picture quality is wonderful. Easy set up. Although I use other speakers for sound, the TV speakers have a decent sound alone. The only thing missing is a base that swivels. My last TV did this and it was very convenient. Overall a great TV.

Comments about Panasonic TC-P42S1 42" Viera S1 Series Plasma HDTV:
The color and clarity are excellent. The sound is good, too, and blu-ray looks awesome. The only knock is that the menu options take some getting used to. You'll need to read the manual and calibrate it to understand how to make the TV look its best.
