The TC-L37G1 keeps up with fast-moving scenes thanks to Panasonic's 120Hz Motion Picture Pro3 technology that increases the frame count to 120 per second. You'll see smooth, natural motion as a player's bat hits the ball or car headlights speed down a dark road. With the wide 178° viewing angle and swivel base, those watching from the side seats will be equally thrilled as those directly in front of the TV. And a Game mode enables the optimum settings for gaming. At 37" in size, the TV features a narrow bezel design that fits comfortably into a bedroom, den, or living room.

Comments about Panasonic TC-L37G1 Viera G1 Series LCD HDTVs:
It fits in my armoire. Most 37 inch sets are 36.4 inches wide. My amoire is 36 inches wide from door-to-door. It held the ole 32 inch 4:3 CRT TV. The G1 series is 35.4 filling the space, yet it gave me decent clearance on both sides of the cabinet. (Come on, that why you read this far...)
Pros - 1080P set, great picture, digital & analog tuner, 3 HDMI inputs, SDcard, optical outputs - all the stuff the bigger sets have. EZ switching between inputs via the remote. Sleep timer & alarm clock option.
Cons - Setting the clock is done manually. Why can't it sync the time off a digital channel? Setting the favorite channels is a little awkward. Over the air (OTA) signal strength metering works, but won't track when flipping from channel to channel.
BE CAREFUL - Panasonic makes an S series - it's not the same size, it's larger.
I'd buy another G series if I needed another one.

I bought this 37" TV for our family room because the size fits in our cabinet. The quality of the picture is outstanding in HD and still good on standard def. Even sporting events do not show any noticeable motion blur. No negatives to speak of.

Comments about Panasonic TC-L37G1 Viera G1 Series LCD HDTVs:
I was shopping for a 1080p 37" LCD TV that would fit in an armoire in our living room. Compared all of the usual suspects (Sharp, Samsung, Sony, etc.) and settled on the Panasonic TC-L37G1 because of its stunning picture quality even in the afternoon sunlight, straight forward remote, numerous features found on higher end models (Intelligent Scene Controller, 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and 120Hz motion picture Pro3 technology), and really deep blacks. However, am not impressed with the internal speakers on this model, they are a bit on the flat side for my taste, and another HDMI input on the rear panel would be nice. Bottom line is you get solid a performing 1080p LCD for less than $800.00!

Comments about Panasonic TC-L37G1 Viera G1 Series LCD HDTVs:
There are not many high end 37" models to choose from. But this high end Panasonic is worth every penny. The color depth is spectacular and sound is brilliant. We bought this unit for a smaller size family room and it is perfect. The 1080p and 120hz refresh rate make all the difference for high speed sports such as hockey, football and basketball, picture judder is undetectable. We had compared the picture too the lower priced Vizio SV370xvt and although the Vizio boasts at 50k dynamic CR the picture looked sub-par next too the Panasonic. Pay the higher price for the Panasonic and you will not be disappointed. Very happy with the purchase. [...]

We use this as a kitchen TV and computer screen. My sons play their video games on it and use it to do home work. It is great as a computer screen. As a TV, the picture quality is not as great as I expected but still very good. Easy to set up. Great extra is that you can put a SD card in it and use it as a photo viewer.

Figured panasonic would last well. My last panasonic which croaked a week before I bought this was 25 years old.

This is the first HDTV we have had in our living room. It replaced a traditional TV. I was able to easily hook it up to HD cable box, DVR, VCR and DVD. It is easy to switch between devices.
Very happy with the picture. Have yet to get acquainted with the advanced features.

2008 Oct I bought a Samsung LN37A550 because lots of good reviews on this set. I had been Panasonic customer for long long time. But decided to give Samsung a try this time. Once the Samsung got into my house, my wife and daughter just did like the Samsung color. It is boring and not as good as Panasonic. Spent lots of time and can't make looks good. Last month, burglar broke into my house and took the Samsung away. Now I decided to get the Panasonic one for sure. And this one is great. Sharp and vivid color right out of box. My wife and daughter are happy now.
