Kept my camera/lens dry and safe even during a downpour. I was able to get some great shots at my daughter's field hockey game. The camera and lens were both dry. The cover is very easy to install. In the future I will add a rubber band for added insurance on the front of the cover.

Great fit on my Canon 5D Mk II. The front (lens) drawstring closure fits and works very well. Access to the camera controls is a bit constricted, but you sacrifice that for keeping things dry.

Good Coverage of the Camera. I have a Canon 7D with a 70-200 2.8 IS lens with a 1.4 extender. Covers the everything. Two challenges, I place a rubberband on the hood to keep the the cover from sliding off the hood and when not shooting the camera still needs to be horizontal. Limited protection on back. I shoot sports and am forced to use a monopod to keep remind me to keep it level. Otherwise very good for the price. I

I have used the Storm Jacket only once: in the rain at Halls Harbour, in Nova Scotia. I was able to use my camera without any problems at all, and the lens/barrel/camera body remained dry...only the lens filter ring caught some drops. On and off in a snap. Dries very quickly. I just wish it were cone-shaped instead of tubular. It would be nice if the opening at the back of the camera were larger.

I have covered a charity Mud Volleyball event the past three years with a couple of mud splatters over this time and a close call last year. Thought I was pushing my luck and decided to get a storm jacket to better protect my D300 and 71-55 2.8 lens. This year I took two complete dousings from the competitors and a thunder storm. The Storm Jacket performed excellently and I did not have a drop of water on the camera or lens. I did have to clean the UV filter on front of the lens a couple of time during the day.

This unit is simple, but it fit my D700 well, and was indispensable on a recent vacation, as it rained a lot. Once use to it, it saved me worrying about my camera every time a bit of rain began to fall.

Examined it but have not yet tried it.Looks like it will fit my Canon 5D Mark II with room to spare, even with my 70-200mm f2.8 lens attached.

I ordered this rain jacket in anticipation of needing it during a jet boat excursion on the Oregon Rouge River. I was shooting with my Canon EOS 60D and a borowed 100-400mm L zoom. I needed the telephoto for capturing wildlife on the river but didn't want to ruin my buddies lens. This jacket was the ticket. Along with it I also ordered the Hoodeye eye cup which I highly recommend for use with it. I was able to zip it up securely around the Hoodeye and around the end of the lens behind the lens hood. While cruising slowly I was able to extend the zoom in and out through it's full range while having the entire camera covered. I was able to depress the shutter button from outside the cover but changing settings required opening it. During manuevers across the rapids and through some serious dunkings, I managed to hold the camera face down with my hand over the eye cup and it kept all the water out. That is except for the last serious dunk where a couple of drops managed to get behind the view screen. Otherwise, it works way better than I expected. Now I can't wait to use it in AK next week where I'm expecting rain. Way to go STORM JACKET!

This jacket is exactly what it appears to be. Construction is more than adequate and the addition of the velcro closure on the bottom for mounting on a tripod, or slipping your left hand in to work the zoom/manual focus functions of the lens, is a major plus only avail. on the PRO version.

The only possible downside to this cover is the fact that the rear of the camera is exposed during use as this is where your right hand must enter the jacket when shooting. The jacket still protects the rear of the camera while in use, but if you tip the camera down to chimp images while handholding, there is no clear plastic covering the back like some of the other more expensive jackets. The plus side to this, of course, is that placing your camera in the jacket is much simpler and quicker than with other models. Also the rear can be pulled shut comletely and a remote cable release can be fed through the bottom velcro closure when on a tripod to give total weather protection.

I still rated this product 5 stars though, because this is a limitation I was well aware of when deciding to make this purchase and in no other way does this product disappoint!

I use this jacket with a D7000 + battery grip + 105mm lens attached. There is enough room for all this and more.
I use the lens hood to fit the front bungee cord and add some extra protection to avoid rain drops on the lens.
I use the opening for my BlackRapid strap that is attached to the camera tripod mount.
I still need some thinking about the fitting of the rear bungee cord to allow picture review on LCD and accomodate my hand.
Tricky part is to keep hands dry before accessing the camera (or keep them inside at all times...)

I used it on a D7000 plus battery grip plus a 105mm lens. It's large enough to accomodate all this gear and more. I used the lens hood to fit the front with the bungee cord and try and avoid water drops on the front of the lens. I still need to find a comfortable way to fit the rear to keep the ability to review the pictures and still accomodate my hand. The opening for tripod is okay when using a BlackRapid strap that locks on the tripod mount and to slip the other hand.
The tricky part is to keep your hands relatively dry (or keep them always in).
But I believe I can set it up better. Time will tell.

I will be using this for travel reasons. It's great when there is an unexpected sprinkle. I find it a little difficult to strap to the front of my lens, but I'm going to have to get use to it.

Used this the day I received it shoot soccer in the rain. Easily slipped on to my D300/MBD-10 and 80-200 lens kept camera and lens dry in a steady rain. Room in the back to fit my hand comfortably.Have used 2 other products in the past as well as plastic bags, and found this simpler and less complicated to attach and handle.[...]

The first time out of the bag was on a duck hunting trip. It was raining sideways and the Storm Jacket kept my gear dry. I was afraid of the large opening on the camera end, but it worked out great. I looked at much more expensive products and figured for the money I would give this a try first. Glad I did, it saved me $100.

The Storm Jacket is exactly what I thought it would be. It fits the 7D with a 70-200 2.8 IS perfectly. I don't think I would not use it in a torrential downpour, but other than that it is perfect. The only reason I would avoid that downpour is that, unlike a Hydrophobia for example, it is open on the back. That's how you access the controls. So, your hands would be wet and water might get on the camera back if you are not careful. I am still giving it 5 stars because as long as you know what it is really good for, and use it within those guidelines, it is great.
