This hard drive is meant to automatically back up computers, and that's what it does - no fuss, no mess. I bought it to use as storage (and to move files from one computer to the other) for only the video, sound, and photo files of my choosing without it backing up everything on my computers. I had to figure out a way to get around the software, which I did pretty quickly(close the software and use E or F on "my computer". My computers run Win XP and Vista). It works like a charm, and it's fast.

Extremely fast and easy backup system. Used it to transfer files from my old PC to the new and then do a complete file backup on the new. I have to stress EASY because all I had to do was plug the usb cord in and the backup begins automatically. It even knew there were two computers and did not mix up the files. It recognized all the file types on my PC...even from some very old programs. Highly recommended!

This product couldn't be easier to use. Just plug it in and it automatically backs up your documents and other files. You can plug it in when you want to do a backup or leave it plugged in and schedule backups as often as once a day. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the lack of abilty for it to do continuous backups. But at the price, it's still a real deal.

Got this the other day - plugged it in to my laptop with a failing hard drive - within ten minutes all my personal files were saved. I replaced the hard drive and restored the files to the new drive - very easy.
I backed up two other computers on the same unit - Everything was automatic and it took no time at all (less than half an hour for the three computers). I will be doing this every week.
