OK radio, poor rechargeable battery life
the radio is pretty cool, sleek, and has good sound, but the life of the rechargeable batteries that come with them is quite short. Motorola should have a better option.

We use this product to communicate with warehouse personnel to more quickly and efficiently serve our customers. The volume is loud enough, and the transmission clear enough, where the guys in the warehouse can hear us speaking over the noise of the machines, fans, etc. They also really like the flashlight function because it helps when reading the labels of material within the ailes.

Using these radios from car to car range is only about 1 mile in the best of conditions. Battery life is not exceptional, but passable. The ability to charge through a USB connector is a big plus. Would like it if these radios had the ability to monitor NWS weather radio, but they do not.

The use I had planned for the walkie talkie is totally different from the enjoyment it has brought since it arrived. To test it out I took my unit to a friend's house and broadcast a short message intended for my mother. Instead I got a response from a young man who got his walkie talkie for his birthday that day. My single female friend was totally entranced and exchanged chat with the young man with delight. Walking home I overheard other fascinating exchanges. Fun fun fun. Thank you.

The small print about the actual range rendered these virtually useless to us. We live in a big city with lots of stone and concrete. Scratchy reception when we were able to get it. The battery life is very short.

As always, Motorola 2-way radios are hard to beat. I have used several different models and have had nothing but good experiences. I use these outdoors for things such as hunting, snowboarding, etc. They are great to have when you have no cell phone reception! The antenna is slightly longer than my previous radios, making it a little difficult to stick in my jacket pocket. That is part of the deal if you want this kind of range.

We purchased the talkabout two-way for my daughter's birthday. She likes to think she is exploring. They were a hit. She found them easy to use and was able to show me how they work. She is 9 yrs. old and that says a lot. If she can figure things out so can anyone else. Great product.

I bought these for the staff at our nursing home. It is a pretty good size building with lots of concrete and there isn't any problem hearing calls.
I set up three different channels for different departments, which was really easy to do.
I feel pretty confident that there isn't neighbors listening to our converstations because of the many choices for interference eliminator codes and channels.
I actually live about 1/2 mile away, and I took a radio home to see if I could communicate. These were definetly not optimal conditions with the concrete and no line of site, but I could hear some of the calls. They could not hear me, but I wonder if I swtiched channels, codes or turned on the qt noise filter. I just haven't had the time.
Overall, these were a WONDERFUL investment for our company. My staff saves valuable time very day by using them, and our resident care has improved. We love them, and I will order more in the future for sure!!

We use these radios for communication among team members at events. These events are outdoors and indoors. We do not require 20 mile range so I cannot comment on that but I can say they are powerful enough to be clear from the basement to the 5th floor of a concrete office building. Privacy, weather alerts, and VOX are all important to use as well as price. Flexibility in charging methods is also a big plus.

We used 16 of these for our last event and had no complications. They were easy to use without any undue "crossover traffic" from other frequencies. I will be purchasing more in the fall. We have a 250,000 square foot campus and had no difficulties with reception regardless of which floor or room from which we were speaking/listening.
