The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W220 Digital Camera is a full-featured, pocket-sized camera built around an incredible 12.1 megapixel image sensor, a precision 4x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Zoom Lens, and an easy to use suite of in-camera optimization and editing tools. From family gatherings at home to a night on the town with friends, the W220 produces consistently beautiful photographs with rich color and stunning detail.
Frame all of your memories with the bright, wide-view 2.7" LCD. High ISO shooting (up to ISO 3200) combined with Sony's acclaimed Super SteadyShot Optical image stabilizer compensates for hand shake and produces stellar photos--even in low-light. The newly optimized Smile Shutter Mode automatically captures an image when your subject smiles--without the need to press the shutter button. You can adjust Smile Shutter sensitivity and even prioritize your subjects in a group photo using the intuitive menu system.
The Cyber-shot DSC-W220 also includes Sony's D-Range Optimizer to retrieve picture detail in photos with harsh highlights or dark shadows. Advanced Scene Recognition carefully matches your shooting scenario with one of five pre-programmed settings. All of these technologies combine to bring you the very best in imaging quality in a compact, easy to use package.

I gave this camera to my daughter for her 13th birthday. We had gone to several "brick and mortar" stores for her to try holding the camera and looking at features, and this one felt right. Although she describes herself as not extremely tech-savvy (though she is pretty comfortable with phones, computers etc.), she does a great job with this, carrying it with her to the zoo, parties, just walking around the city, and taking videos as well as still shots. All in all the picture quality is excellent, and there is no discernible shutter lag. It feels pretty solid in my hands, and I also enjoy using it. I was a little worried about Sony's proprietary memory card, but it has been no problem to upload photos with a universal reader, or directly from the camera with a supplied cable. I'm not crazy about the menu (some features are pretty hidden), but after a bit of a minor learning curve, it got easier, especially for my daughter. I would recommend this camera.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot W220 Digital Camera (Blue):
Purchased the camera for a trip to Italy because we did not want to hassle with a large bulky camera and risk theft or damage. It was a great and small investment. The ISO setting did terrific in low light churches or night shots with only available light. We used the video setting many times and the only drawbacks was no zooming in or out during video and if the sight was dim then the video was dim but otherwise it was great.

This camera takes great pictures. It's small and handy. A true point and shoot camera, even a beginner can use this camera. I love the easy to use dial that switches through your picture taking options. Unlike Cannon where you have to search through a menu.
It's cute, small and fun.

This camera is incredible! It is an easy to use point and shoot camera that delivers sharp, crisp images. The Carl Zeiss lens is definately worth every dollar! The controls are self explanetory and the interface between camera and pc is a dream! The 12.1mp photos are approx 4mb in size so a full memory card does take a while to download but still hassle free nevertheless. The lag time between shots is approx 1-2 secs which is not bad.
