Behind the sleek piano black exterior of the Sony KDL-32XBR9 32" BRAVIA LCD TV, lies a host of advanced features, that represent the evolution of Sony HDTV. 1080p resolution is the highest HD standard available, offering maximum performance from your Blu-ray player and gaming consoles such as PlayStation 3.
But the supporting cast of features is what makes the TV extraordinary. Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) With Dynamic Backlight Control bring the sort of deep, rich blacks and shadows that seemed unattainable on an LCD panel even a short time ago.
24pTrue Cinema allows the panel to display content such as Blu-ray at the same frame rate that it was shot, 24 fps, resulting in a more genuine cinematic look. The Xross Media Bar provides a logical graphic user interface offering choices in screen modes and settings. Motionflow 120Hz technology is, in simple terms, an anti-blur feature. Most LCD TVs redraw each, individual frame 60 times per second. Motionflow doubles that rate to 120Hz resulting in sharper, smoother screen action which is especially noticeable in sports broadcasts or gaming.
BRAVIA Link modules represent a milestone in seamless integration and lifestyle enhancement features. BRAVIA DVD Link gives back precious shelf space by adding the player behind your TV, not your A/V cabinet. BRAVIA Input Link provides four additional HDMI connections to your TV and Bravia Wireless Link joins all of your HD audio and video wirelessly, without the tangle of wires and confusion of multiple remotes. 4 HDMI inputs ensure maximum resolution, uncompressed video and multi-channel audio, as well as seamless transition between your HD sources. A PC input allows use of the KDL-32XBR9 as a computer monitor while 2 component inputs offer additional HD support.
Lastly, the KDL-32XBR9 begins to recoup its purchase price the moment you plug it in. It exceeds Energy Star 3.0 requirements by incorporating features such as Standby Mode and Dynamic Backlight Control which uses an energy saving light sensor to adjust the screen's brightness based on the surrounding light.

I waited Yeeeaaaaaars for the quality to rise and prices to fall. Plus I wanted a 32" monitor for Photoshop as well as Blu-Ray movies via Netflix. Also some PC gaming. This thing is awesome. I am sitting 38" away and I can see details I never could get before with my very good CRT. Contrast, depth of field perception, zooming ratios for varying needs. Sound is surprisingly good and a nice alternative to my 5.1 audio system for late night viewing. I am driving it off my motherboards HDMI port. Be sure to turn Motion Flow up to high, it is off by default.Menu - Picture - Advanced Settings - Motion Flow (Set it to high for almost no stuttering.)I called Sony before it arrived about the firmware update and they said wait until there is an issue as it likely already had the recent update installed. It has been flawless so I will not rock the boat. But if you do I would recommend having them mail you a USB stick with the software already on it. Also I will be buying an additional 3 years warrenty [...] This was my first purchace through them and they really came through. I didn't see their online videos until afterward. It was comforting and useful while awaiting my new gizmo. Also the Aluratek HD antenee picked up a total of 6 channels off the air. I wrote a review of it as well. Also I have read reviews of Monster brand LCD cleaner ruining the screen. I just use a very soft cotton rag dampened with cold tap water (hot has sediment in it from the water heater) the machine off and fully dry before turning it back on. Last time I used Jasco Eye Glass micro polishing cloths. You sometimes see them in opticians offices. My Bravia has no dead pixels; nor does it have any pixels stuck on bright. [...]I hope this is of some use to you.Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2HPAMD 64x2 5000 4 Gigs of ram, 512 devoted to memory until next month, then another 4 gig and a 1 gig silent video card, GIGABYTE GV-R485MC-1GI. This is the 2nd Bravia purchased in recent months. The previous Model listed just below this top line Model is actually more functional. The engineers really omitted functionality that is commonly needed in this new higher model. For instance, you cannot control the volume ouput with the remote unless the internal speakers only are used. This capability is present on the previous model and allowed the user to use a fixed amplifier and control the volume with the TV Control. This forces you to always handle 2 or 3 controls especially if using a satellite input. Also, they dropped the onscreen TV Schedule for off-air Broadcast and only show a brief few words of what you are actually watching. This is annoying and provides little value when selecting a channel. The screen image is somewhat better, but overall this model is a dissappointment compared tho the much higher cost. ALso, the brochure provided is extremely cheap.--Only a few pages that look like they were photocopied. Overall -- would prefer the Bravia MOdel just below this one.

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
Have always had Sony TVs. They last forever. Have been eying this one for quite awhile. The reviews were always good. My son likes it for his X-Box as there is a "gaming" mode. My only complaint is the sound. It seems the "sound" is the most common complaint with any new flat panel. Shouldn't really have to buy extra speakers to make it a complete package, but I guess that's what some people do. For a 32 inch set, it's actually quite large!!

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
This is a really good TV set. 1080p material is very sharp and clear. 1080p upconvert turns most DVDs into nearly 720p equivalent clarity. I really like this TV and would only suggest an external sound system to overcome the somewht thin sound of the internal speakers. Not a big problem, however. Sony keeps on giving us great stuff at affordable prices.

I'm very satisfied. It was very easy to set up. Turn it on, choose home (as compared to store), let it automatically search for channels, and it's up and running. Great picture. Easy to use controls.

We had already bought a Sony XBR6 52" LCD High-def TV and liked it so much, we bought the latest version, XBR9 32" for a combined massive computer monitor/TV for the home library room. Couldn't be happier with both!

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
I have always only bought Sony TV's and have shopped from B&H many times. I will always highly recommend Sony TV's and B&H to purchase your products from. With that said, I ended up with a lemon this time. This is the only Sony LCD TV that I have seen take about 15 seconds to turn on. Besides that, while watching wide screen images, I sometimes get a flickering white line across the top and bottom of the screen. This unit will also sometimes just shut off on its own for no reason. Very annoying. [...]

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
I've had the Sony 52" XBR in my family room with a HD cable package and Blu-Ray player for the last two years and I love it. It's hooked up to a top of the line Sony 5.1 DVD surround sound system(from B&H) that I purchased a couple years before I got the TV. So when I decided to buy a TV for the bedroom the Sony XBR and B&H were the only names I considered. [...] Thanks B&H you guys are the best. I was so happy a week later I ordered the Sony BDVE300 BDV-E300 Blu-ray Home Theater System to comlpement the TV. I'll never buy electronics anywhwere else.

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
I think the quality of the picture and sound are excellent. The TV is used everyday in a kitchen, many hours. The sound loud enough and clear enough for elderly parents in late seventies, where their hearing is not so good. This was one of the main reasons for buying this model TV. On most other models the speakers project the sound out the bottom instead of the front. I recommend buying this TV to everyone. I have purchased other products from B&H, 7.1 receiver, speakers, dvd player, cables, ect. [...]

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
We use this television as a bedroom unit that needs to operate off the HDTV cable directly (without the cable company's DVR tuner). The SONY digital tuner has had no problems "finding" the channels while the others we have tried can not tune to the precision required (ex 94.19568). The 120HZ update rate with the great SONY XBR picture is something I will consider worthwhile for my next larger TV update.

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
Nice TV for the size. We would have bought a larger TV if size was not an issue. The older oak entertainment center we have will not accommodate anything bigger than a 32". Spent a lot of time researching the different 32" models available and narrowed it down to the Samsung and the Sony. Comparing the two in a retail store the Sony's picture was a little better. The slight differences in the two may have been personal preferences, we have always bought Sony products and never been disappointed.

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
This TV gets an excellent picture. I already had the KDL32XBR6 in my bedroom, and wanted another for the spare bedroom. The new one looks even better than my first, so of course I switched. The blacks seem much deeper on the new set, and the color is very natural. The picture is amazing. The sound is about right for this size TV. Hookup was easy as I just run the cable directly to the TV. I went into settings and set the picture to cinema, (default is standard). Really made a difference, though it is certainly a matter of taste. It does take maybe 20-25 seconds to come on, but the picture is worth the wait. If you are looking for a 32 inch LCD- this one deserves a look! [...]

Comments about Sony KDL-32XBR9 1080p BRAVIA LCD TV:
I spent a long time looking at 32 inch LCD TVs before settling on this one. I had a very specific place on a wall of bookshelves where I wanted to place a TV. It was important to me that it have a wide viewing angle and a natural looking picture. I also wanted it to look sleek when not in use and have the speakers function well in the confined space. This TV exceeded my expectations in every way! I only wish I had bought it sooner! (Oh, one thing is that the composite and HDMI imputs are on the side, not the rear, which made setting it up a little tricky.)
