Behind the sleek piano black exterior of the Sony KDL-32S35100 32" BRAVIA S-Series LCD TV, lies a host of advanced features at an affordable pricepoint, that represent the evolution of Sony HDTV. 1080p resolution is the highest HD standard available, offering maximum performance from your Blu-ray player and gaming consoles such as PlayStation3.
But the supporting cast of features are what makes the TV extraordinary. Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) With Dynamic Backlight Control bring the sort of deep, rich blacks and shadows that seemed unattainable on an LCD panel even a short time ago.
24pTrue Cinema allows the the panel to display content such as Blu-ray at the same frame rate that it was shot, 24 fps, resulting in a more genuine cinematic look. The Xross Media Bar provides a logical graphic user interface offering choices in screen modes and settings.
Bravia Link modules represent a milestone in seamless integration and lifestyle enhancement features. Bravia DVD Link gives back precious shelf space by adding the player behind your TV, not your A/V cabinet. Bravia Input Link provides four additional HDMI connections to your TV and Bravia Wireless Link joins all of your HD audio and video wirelessly, without the tangle of wires and confusion of multiple remotes.
3 HDMI inputs ensure maximum resolution, uncompressed video and multi-channel audio, as well as seamless transition between your HD sources. A PC input allows use of the KDL-32S5100 as a computer monitor while 2 component inputs offer additional HD support.
Lastly, the KDL-32S5100 begins to recoup its purchase price the moment you plug it in. It exceeds Energy Star 3.0 requirements by incorporating features such as Standby Mode and Dynamic Backlight Control which uses an energy saving light sensor to adjust the screen's brightness based on the surrounding light.

Sony has always been a top product brand name that when people start thinking about buying a new TV, the first thing that pops into their minds is SONY. It has RELIABILITY written all over it. Our first TV set was the Sony Trinitron, which was awesome by the way during the 80's. Then, we bought Panasonic and JVC TVs when it conked out. BUT now that everybody is going crazy about LCD and plasma TVs despite the recession, I bought this awesome Bravia after saving enough money and I have no regrets at all. Setting it up was easy. Connecting it to my old home theater system was a breeze and when it was time to turn it on, I was simply blown away by the stunning picture quality of this Sony. True, other brands can top this one, but for the price, nothing beats this one. One word sums it all up - AWESOME!!! Just remember to hook it up to a good sound system and you really are in for a treat. The built-in speakers, like in other branded TVs won't give you that amazing cinema-like experience. Sony - simply the BEST!

1. How you use the product: From the outer looks at a first glance you may not like that much. As compared to other makers and even other lower model from Sony, this one looks much dull. I like the grill design of even the lower model 32L4000. Glossy touch on the outer frame adds a little shine to the frame, other wise it would have been the worst look-feel compared to the latest models of Sony LCD.
I like the remote a lot. Allways feel like holding it, its so light and sleak, it works a little slower though, but thats not any problem.
2. Things that are great about it: Good clear and sharp image. Good 1080P LCD for a decent price.
3. Things that aren't so great about it: Poor looks. Brightness decreases when dark scene comes. It looks like you are watching a scene, and some one came and reduced the brightness for no reason and then in 2 to 3 seconds, again increased the brightness. Its really annoying. Many a times i have seen ghost images too. I complained Sony and it looks like these 2 problems are with most of the S5100 series of any size. They have a software upgrade released on 04/28, one can download it too, and they are sending that via mail. I have to see once it comes and that corrects these issues or not.
Over all I would suggest you to buy from Sony but not at least this 32S5100 series. Bhphotovideo is all time great seller. I have and will continue to shop from them.

Two things consistent with Sony are Quality and Dependability.I've had a least one Sony TV in my house for the past 30 years. I guess they understand "lifetime value of a customer"

This is my second Sony 32" since last year, this one intended for the bedroom, but after setting it up, I put it the living room as the main TV. The picture quality is amazing, with a custom set up far superior and flexibe to the KDL4000 from last year. This set is very user freindly, with
set up taking less than 5 minutes to be up and running with DirecTV High Definition and an HDMI cable connection. Even the non HD stations are far more viewable than anything I've seen. I have a Sony Blue Ray, and a Sony Soundbar,as well. These both sychronized as soon as I plugged in the HDMI cables, so one remote works everything. Well worth a few more dollars over a 720 resolution Sony.

Bought as a gift, so I haven't personally watched it very much. However, the recipient is VERY happy with it. 1080p is overkill for this size, unless you're into games or using it as a massive monitor. However, the price was excellent so it didn't matter.[...] No complaints (thus far).

Comments about Sony 32" Bravia S Series LCD HDTV:
This is my only tv, I watch only movies and sports. Physical setup was simple, but getting the cable box and tv settings to coordinate for easy viewing required a couple of hours on the phone with tech people from Sony and the cable company. Turned out the HDMI cable did not do as good a job at switching between low-res and hi-def channels as the five-plug cable, which I had to get separately from the cable company. I am very happy with the picture, sound, and menu controls on the tv. I'm not crazy about the high-gloss black finish because it will show every finger and all dust, but there seem to be few options.

I have my tv in my bedroom that doesnt get much light so I dont have a glare problem. I love everything about it. I don't see a huge difference in buying 120hz to buying 60hz. I also use it to plug in my laptop to create a bigger screen. The picture is great. I dont think I want anything different except maybe a bigger screen ;)

Easy set up. On a 32 inch TV you don't really need 1080 although for this price it was worth it. Higher contrast ratio than most 720 TV's. Sony has some of the best natural skin tones.
