This is a great camera to have to use for underwater shots as well as regular photos. It is durable, fairly compact and easy to use.
I originally bought this for a trip to Maui and we used it for snorkeling as well as point and shoot shots when I didn't carry my big DSLR. It worked great. The only con would be the lag on the shutter. That is with most point and shoots though, so you get used to it. It worked great for the underwater shots. We got some nice shots and were very happy with it. I love the four positions on the wrist strap and the buttons are easy to use and the manual easy to understand. My only complaint would be that it wasn't Boxer puppy proof. My dog got it off the table and chewed the buttons off. The camera still worked, only had a few scratches on the body and one on the viewfinder, but with the buttons almost gone I couldn't change the settings, so I took it to the service center. Canon did a replacement camera for me at a discounted price, so I didn't have to buy another one.
The camera is used weekly now that we live in Hawaii. I use it every time we snorkel and it goes to the beach weekly. It is my go to camera for when I ride my scooter to the beach. I love the pictures it takes, as the colors are great and the exposure is spot on. We are looking into buying a second camera for everyone else to use when snorkeling and it it will most likely be this camera again. Great camera for the price!

I have several Canon cams and lenses, so I trusted the company. But this little blue camera LEAKED while using it under water. I am very disappointed. I sent it back to Canon, who gladly sent me a refurbished one for the out-of-warranty price, and the replacement cam quit working after three months. I spent over $500 only to throw the thing in the trash. It was fun while it worked...but two cameras having problems means there is something most definitely wrong with the manufacturing.

Excellent camera for those wanting a durable, waterproof field oriented camera. We currently use four of these cameras to support biological field crews conducting studies in both salt marsh and wetland vegetation. We work in both bright, water reflected environments and in heavy cloud cover. The cameras have an great battery life, great in low light, and record the data quickly.

Got this before a trip to hawaii and it did all it stated and more. Video was great. Still pics were very clear. In water photos were a great change of perspective to have completely different pitures of kids while in waves, no worry about getting camera wet. Never a problem with opening and closing waterproof doors. Soaked camera in fresh water like it said after being in salt water. Finding it to be a great camera after vacation for regular picture taking.

Bought the camera for a Caribbean cruise. I used it for pictures of snorkeling and any time my 60D would get wet. The underwater picture quality is great and suprisingly, the above water pictures were also very good. Great color. The Canon controls are easy to master. The manual is well done and easy to read. The only cons are minor, there is a lag in the time the shutter is released and the picture is taken. I missed some fish pictures. I'm a little spoiled by the DSLR. Its also a fatty. Your not going to fit it in your pocket. But, I'd buy it again if I lost it. Great Canon quality. My friend is a Nikon guy and he bought one.

Good all around camera. Easy to use: just point and click. Has several different shooting modes. Best movie mode is 640X480 pixel at 30 frames per second. Waterproof to 33 feet which is why I bought it.

I've had other PowerShots but this is my first waterproof so it's extra size has taken a little getting used to. Controls are improved from earlier PowerShots as is the monitor. I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces on the water.

THIS IS THE PERFECT CAMERA FOR THE OUTDOOR TYPE. THIS IS THE SECOND ONE I BOUGHT NOT BECAUSE OF FAILURE BECAUSE SHE LOST IT. WE HAVE TAKEN OUR OLD ONE THOUGH THE TOUGHEST CONDITIONS INCUDING GOING THROUGH MUD PITS ON OUR 4 WHEELER. IT TAKES GREAT PICS AND CAN TAKE ABUSE FROM OUR 1 1/2 OLD SON. LITTLE BULKY BUT WORTH IT, I PROMISE.

We owned one PowerShot D10 for over a year as well as an older PowerShot (but different model) which finally gave out. So we looked around and decided to buy a second PowerShot D10. The reasoning was we liked the one we had but if anything happened to it we still wanted to take underwater pictures so the second acted as a spare (and used the same batteries etc.) and gave us good regular pictures as well. As it turned out nothing has happened to either one and both have now been snorkling many times. In the last 3 weeks we took over 3000 pictures and several hours of video (about half underwater). The pictures are still great since the viewfinder is bright and easy to see under water.
We have previously used 2 other underwater cameras both of which leaked. The only drawback is that if you zoom while taking video the image blurs. My wish list is for the same camera with a longer zoom and one that can zoom while taking video.

After second use, it died. The battery will no longer take a charge. I actually build electric vehicles so I know a thing or two about batteries. Complete waste of money.

I purchased this to use on an upcoming trip to Palau and Yap. I snorkel and wanted to be able to take some underwater shots. This camera does so much it could replace my regular point and shoot Canon. I can't wait to use it. It is light, small and packed with features.

I'm not the most knowledgeable photographer, so can't attest much to its quality. Since I couldn't take good pictures with the best camera in the world, I can't do it with this one either. I'm overall happy with it. And confident in its being durable.

This is an excellent camera. I've used it extensively while diving on reefs and kayaking in Florida waters. It takes superb underwater pictures in clear water. I use it for microscopy and snapshots and it has been reliable. I've gotten zoom errors requiring repeated restarts while trying to zoom in on objects underwater, but this error doesn't occur above water. This is my second D-10. I managed to destroy the first by accident and had no hesitation about replacing it. Above water, at full digital zoom, there is a definite loss of resolution, but since most of my applications are close-range, this isn't a major obstacle. I bought this camera originally because of it's ability to withstand water pressure to 10 meters and have not been disappointed. I used it to record videos of a school of feeding sharks and was delighted with the image quality.

This camera just survived a trip to the summit of Mount Washington with me. It experienced -15F at night and 10F during the day and the battery held up like a champ while my cell phone lasted less than 90 minutes in those temps. The other bonus to this camera is there are no moving external parts. It slipped into my chest pocket with ease without ever having to worry about it snagging. For anyone active, this camera is a must.

The D10's underwater presets work very well in color, lighting, and in depth of field. Changing between scene modes is simple and the images it captures on each that I used are sharp and clear.

The only issue I encountered was at times the shutter speed on the underwater setting was slow trying to capture quick movement cleanly. Improving the optical zoom on future revisions would be welcomed as well. 3x is not quite enough for underwater opportunities.

The size, button positions, and LCD display are well placed and simple to operate underwater or on land. This was an excellent choice for my purposes of snorkeling, beach use, and indoor moments in need of recording.

I love how rugged this camera is. It takes great low light pictures and the resolution is fantastic for large prints. I just wish the lens had cover for extra protection.
