This is a great camera! I use it as a backup camera to my larger Canon and as a handy take-along when a larger camera would be a hassle. It does almost everything the bigger cameras do and it does them well. I bought one for my girlfriend and recommended it to other friends, one of whom purchased it also.

This purchase was for my 18 year old daughter to replace an older - and much slower - Nikon point and shoot. She is very pleased with the camera's display, speed, and ease of use. The size is great for her active lifestyle and she likes the amount of time she gets on the charge.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS Digital Camera (Green):
I needed a small P&S I could take when I didn't feel like packing my bulky, fancy camera and this is perfect for that. I wanted something compact that could fit in my purse or jacket. I've had a Canon PowerShot before and loved it so much and used it for 6+ years until it just stopped working. So I decided to just get another and I wasn't disappointed. Improved features are that you can rotate the screen to view pictures. The screen has very sharp definition and the camera takes nice pictures. I also like how it saves the manual function that I used last so I don't have to set it where I like it each time I take it off of Auto. Isn't the greatest in low light but it does better than many. Image stabilization on this one but doesn't seem to make a big difference so far. I do love that it comes in my favorite color green :) All in all, a good value.

This is only my 2nd digital camera. I really like it - the ELPH series came recommended by a professional photographer friend. The setup and operation is very intuitive. Only drawbacks so far is that you have to remove the battery to charge it (not a big deal to me - you still need to cart something around to charge any camera so who cares?) and there doesn't seem to be any internal memory like in my previous camera - you need to operate with a memory card inside.

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS Digital Camera (Green):
This digital camera is a huge step up from my last camera. It has an excellent screen and zoom. It's easy to program and has lots of different settings that can be adjusted manually. I use it for all my photo needs: sporting events, parties, wildlife (zoos and aquariums), etc. It has some trouble in lower light, without the the flash, but basically any camera will. Not much to complain about. I love it!

With small kids the worst part is trying to get a picture with kids sitting still. This camera is a bute to just point and shoot with great results. Quick to focus and good image qulaity. Did lots of online research and this is very good value for money

This is an excellent camera for the first time casual user as well as for those looking for a little more creative control. Quick startup action, sharp photos and excellent features make this one a winner.
Just a bit of shutter delay, but that's to be expected at this price point, and it's certainly no more than its competitors.
Purchased for a non-professional user who found it easy to use. Highly recommended.

What an amazing little camera. We had to replace an older Canon powershot that we've had for several years and this time the wife wanted something even more portable. The amazing face finding focusing tool is a true innovation and our Christmas photos turned out fabulous!

I bought this camera as a gift for my wife. Our DSLR is just not practical for many needs - so this little point and shoot works great as a fill-in as needed. It's small enough to fit in her purse, and handy enough to grab quickly around the house for candid shots of the kids.
So far - no complaints. It works just as advertised - and at a great price! Thanks B&H!

Canon's digital Elph cameras are without competition. Handsome, very easy to use, consistently fine photos, durable. Not a pro camera, but these babies deliver the best pictures that a photographic know-nothing can ever hope for. Our family now owns five, and I still carry around my old dinosaur (an SD-300, I think, that works just fine) as a "just in case" camera, as it beats the heck out of taking pics with a stupid camera phone. You'll never be sorry with the Canon point-and-shoots. We'd have a fourth SD1200, except for the fact that I favor my Nikon D80 :)

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS Digital Camera (Green):
I was shocked at the ability to take indoor pictures in low or almost no light (in automatic mode). In fact I would suggest that to avoid glares from indoor lighting, turn the lights off and only use light from an adjoining room if possible.
Some will think that the viewfinder is a thing of the past, but it is a nice option to have. By the end of Christmas day I was running out of battery and I was able to get a last few family group photos because I could turn off the LCD display and use the viewfinder.
I do wish there was a little stronder zoom than 3X. But with the 10 megapixels, you are able to zoom in on your photo past the 3x during editing without compromising quality (within reason).
Photos have been easy to transfer to both Windows and Mac (iPhoto) with no additional software required. It is very easy to check your pictures on LCD while shooting.

I got this for my little sister's Sweet 16. I have the 1100, and this is a little better than mine. She is in love with the camera. It takes great pictures, with nifty little features. Everyone's pretty jealous of the sweet camera she got for her birthday.
I've dropped my 1100 over and over with no consequences. I can only imagine this one is just the same or better

Comments about Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS Digital Camera (Green):
I bought this camera when my old Powershot A80 died (it was 10 years old), based on a recommendation from a friend who as an SD1100. I photograph a lot of events for work and for my community groups. This camera is easy to set up and use, and is very light and portable (you barely notice it's there). Controls are easy (especially switching between camera a photo-view mode). The Auto setting is separate from the rest (sunlight, beach, snow, night, etc) and switching between macro, landscape and regular focus is easy to find. Photos download easily with the enclosed cable... you won't need a card reader, though it is very handy. Also LOVE the color!
Waterproof case (see accessories below) is easy to use, though almost the same price as the camera (!). It takes GREAT underwater photos, and is also great protection for the camera (though it obviously makes it heavier and bulkier).
My one complaint is the wide angle-ness of the lens... images from the previous model (SD1100) seem a little more flat.
