Comments about Canon PowerShot A2100 Digital Camera:
Purchased this camera for a 3 month trip to Patagonia, Chile. Needed a camera with AA batteries b/c I was not able to charge the camera. I am an experienced photographer & would have loved to have had brought my digital SLR, but I did not want to ruin it, as I was mountaineering, sea kayaking, & backpacking in very adverse conditions. That being said, I was super impressed with this camera! Took amazing pictures that I will cherish forever & ever. Additionally, this camera went through a lot of wear & tear, & functioned perfectly the whole 3 months. Was exposed to a lot of moisture during the 3 months, but continued to work. I swear this camera is pretty much waterproof! Don't worry about taking pictures in the rain or snow & getting it a little wet. Only downside to this camera is that it has no manual setting, but it is meant for beginners, so if you aren't into manual settings, then it's perfect for you. I used the white balance setting a lot because I was taking pictures in snow & it was amazing how well the pictures came out. Was worried about the camera not having a optical viewfinder, but the LCD worked perfectly!
-Awesome battery life! One set of AA lithium batteries lasted a month, using the camera everyday in freezing temperatures. Worked every time in freezing/below freezing temperatures. Many of my friends cameras did not.
-Amazing image quality! Very crisp, clear images with incredible color. Used a -1.5 to -2.0 white balance in the snow to capture amazing pictures.
-Awesome image stabilization! I didn't use flash at all on my trip because I was outdoors & wanted the natural light in my pictures, & I didn't have any blurry pictures! It still took amazingly clear pictures in low light. Took some cool campfire pictures without flash in the dark that came out perfectly.
-Good zoom! Definitely worth it to pay a little bit more for the 6x zoom.
-Great LCD! Very big & clear. Fun to review your pictures because they are so clear!
-Size is a little bigger than most point & shoots these days, but for it to house both the 6x zoom & AA batteries, it is pretty small.
All in all, no complaints whatsoever about this camera! I was so impressed with how well it held up! All my friends are super jealous of the amazing pictures I got from this trip.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2100 Digital Camera:
This is an excellent camera and I highly recommend it. I give it 4 of 5 stars ONLY because I previously owned a Canon A620 and I kind of liked it better (normalizing out the fact that it was a few years older and therefore older technology). The main thing is that the A620 was easier to handle (mechanically) and responded a bit quicker. Also, batteries lasted longer (okay, because it was not processing as much I presume). Anyway, the A2100 is definitely excellent and I guess you just have to put up with smaller, smarter cameras as time marches on.

Overall this is a great product. I love the size and the high optical zoom. I have not been able to use it too much so far...the only thing I have noticed to far is that it sometimes has a delay in taking pictures. The quality of pictures is great.

Comments about Canon PowerShot A2100 Digital Camera:
This camera takes excellent stills, and the video is pretty awesome too. I got (2) 4 gig cards for it and I can shoot all weekend with this thing. It's easy to use, the case is small and easy to carry or attach to my belt. I would highly recommend this camera. I used to have an Olympus SLR, and I downgraded to this camera which takes better pictures than the Olympus without any lenses attached. The Canon does have more megapixels than the other.

I love this camera. I used to have this camera that was really bad, it was just awful, and then I got this one, the macro is magnificent, and the picture quality is great. The camera has some really cool features, like; fireworks, sunset, aquarium, and much more.
I would definitely get this again!

I purchased this camera for my sister after doing some in-depth reviews. The ease of use and the quality of the product were the selling points.
This is my sisters 1st digital camera and she really loves it! She said it was easy to use and takes wonderful pictures. There are lots of great technical things about the camera that make it great, but my sister saying its easy to use and the photos she takes are great is music to my ears :) If your new to the digital world and want to just point and shoot, this is the one!

Just received ( June 19 2009 ) [...]. Read easy to understand owners book immediately. Started with pics of flowers and fruit in my back yard. The clarity of pics is absolutely stunning. Put them on my computer blown up and they look professional. I am absolutely blown away. This is a great camera. I do wish it had a view finder and I haven't had it long enough to evaluate all the features and I don't know how durable/strong it is.
