Really great product for the cash. The built in features like a diffuser and white reflector, eTTL and manual options really make this a great product. I have had problems getting the camera to fire it during the daylight once, but batteries were low.
Highly recommended - esp considering a guide number of 125 - which is only about 15 short of the Canon 430 EX II!

Comments about Bower SFD926C Digital Shoe Mount Flash for Canon SLR:
I tried it with Canon Rebel XS and Canon T3i. Works fine, communicates with both cameras OK, improves pictures as I wanted. T3i has menu item about external flash, however it is not enabled with this flash. Looks like flash understands signals from T3i but T3i is not receiving signals from flash. But result is good enough for me, better than with camera flash. Also, it fires in slave mode OK (disconnected from camera).
Some people think flash flattens faces etc. but I prefer to see younger faces without wrinkles and shadows from big noses.

Comments about Bower SFD926C Digital Shoe Mount Flash for Canon SLR:
TTL WORKS WELL, YET SEEMS A LITTLE BRIGHT SO FAR I USED MOSTKY AS A FILLER IN OUTDOOR PORTRIATS. DOES NEED ADJUSTING INDOORS OR CLOSER AS TTL PUTS TOO MUCH LIGHT AND SUBJECT IS A BIT WASHED OUT. SINCE IT IS SO MUCH CHEAPER THAN A CANON SPEEDLITE I DO SUGGEST IT FOR BEGINNERS, OR AS AN EXTRA. IT DOES NOT FIT WELL INTO THE SHOE MOUNT AND IS LOOSE AND BOUNCES AROUND QUITE A BIT.

I have used this flash unit extensuvely and it responds as well as its more expensive competitors. Buy this unit and you will be very surprised as to how well it responds to all auto focus lenses.

I am just started into flash photography, and wanted to find an economical flash. The Bower fit the bill.
Pros
-easy to use.
-ettl works great
-slave mode works for off camera use
Cons
-zoom gets stuck on start up. (a light tap seems to get it working)
-build quality is cheap but that is what you are going to get for 1/3 the cost of the canon.

I used it to supplement available light during long exposures. It worked really well. Takes a little longer than the Canon Speedlite to recycle and be ready. Ate through the batteries pretty fast. Other than that, did a great job and the built-in diffuser helps to soften the light.

Bought this in a pinch for a couple of wedding gigs I was doing. Works well although I find it doesnt always lock on on the first shot and blows it out terribly. Rest assured its not a Speedlite but it works fine if you're not looking to blow 400+ on a flash.

Comments about Bower SFD926C Digital Shoe Mount Flash for Canon SLR:
This was my first external flash. I used this mainly for Night Club Photography. I have shot over 50 events, which are tens of thousands of photos.. Then I went to shoot a fashion show, and it froze on me. screen froze, wouldnt do anything.. Stayed like that for about a half an hour. Messed up some pics of the models coming down the runway.
A couple weeks down the line, I was shooting in a night club, and the cold shoe just broke off, and it was no longer useable. I admit, I did drop it once before(month or so prior to the cold shoe breaking). The cold shoe is plastic which is #NoBueno. Stay away from these. Just think about the weight of the flash, plus batteries, plus a diffuser(gary fong collapsible)- if you really use this, and also do alot of vertical shots, moving this thing around alot, it will break on you. I just bought me a Canon 430EX ii. This is the way to go. It is more money, but well worth the investment.

After reading the reviews I feel the same as most of the 3-4 star comments. I have only shot a handful of pics on different setting with this flash and so far I am pleased. I am not sure how much more you would get out of you money going with a Cannon or more $$$ flash. So far so good

I bought two of these bad boys, I use them on top of light stands with umbrellas and they do a great job at night. They provide quality lighting without the need of any plugins.
my only problem is the material they are made out of, a little cheap if you ask me
