The Bower SFD680N Digital Shoe Mount Flash is an economical fash, with complete TTL flash support for digital SLR cameras. This version is dedicated to the Nikon digital SLR camera line, and fully supports Nikon's i-TTL flash operating system.
The flash features an auto-zoom flash head, which auto-senses the focal length of the camera's lens, and adjusts itself accordingly, within the range of 28mm to 85mm. It can also tilt and swivel for complete creative control. Its light output can be adjusted with a range of +/-1 EV in 0.5 increments (5 settings). It is an ideal economical all-around flash for any digital or 35mm autofocus SLR shooter.

Professional Photographer use.
I am very surprised in my first contact with this ttl power zoom flash! Battery economy: Covering a 5 hours party, taking about 400 pictures, with rebate lightening, using rechargeable battery, but not recharged during all the event. Finally, it is easy to use, practical, and minimum weigh.But, unfortunately, It can not be used as slave flash,and it was not clear in information. Now, I need to see, if it is a durable product. It is a good and low price product! I recommend it to my friends.

The flash output is great photos are very clear and detail.The only draw back with the unit that i have is that, it does not tranfer back and forth threw the power zoom ranges very well makes a clicking sound during tranfer and it also sticks between focal ranges.Unit is use on my Nikon D90,D3000.Will have to find a better solution for a flash this one does not make the grade.

I didn't know how much I needed this until I had it. Massive improvement to indoor flash shots and cool out doors too.
Price point is about right for this flash, it talks well with the Nikon (d40), and is quick to recharge.
The plastic bit that slides into the hotshoe seems weak... pretty sure that will be the thing to break first.
Nice flash though, and again, decent for the money.

It's a nice flash for general use. Good power, front and side rotation make it very versatile. The zoom sensing feature is really cool and useful.
On the other hand it is very light and plasticky, but for this price I definitely can't complain.

I purchased this item to replace a broken SB-600. I needed an inexpensive flash quickly, and this unit was perfect for my situation.
While I will no doubt get another Nikon flash in the future, this one will do for now. It is easy to use and is well built (factoring in the price).

I have used this flash both indoors and outdoors, usually with the included diffuser or another I bought at the time and I am pleased with the results. The flash is definitely consumer grade, so it isn't as tough, fancy, or nice as the Nikons, but it will do for someone on a budget.

This a great flash, in my opinion. It's by no means top of the line or as fancy as others out there, but for the price, you can't go wrong. I believe it's a great flash for beginners or even as backup flash. Bower puts out a good product for the price. The only downside is the weight, which isn't terribly bad, but noticeable. The fact it came with a diffuser was a plus as well.
