I got this boom mic. exactly what I want with a reasonable price for my production company. It was delivery on time and in good condition. I have save time and money when ordering this product.

This is not a terrible boom pole at this price point, but it really isn't an incredible one either.

The good things about it are the length for the price, foam/rubber grip, it comes with a decent nylon bag with a strap, and it is light.

If you REALLY need the length and don't have much to spend, it will be fine for you. If you will never need a pole to go out more than 6 feet, do not buy this. Go for a K-Tek or Rode instead.

It says its carbon fiber, and it may very well be, but to me it just feels like plastic. The locking rings are also plastic and difficult to tighten/loosen. Like other people have said, this thing flexes a ton when it's out all the way. !5' is pretty long though and you're going to get that from any pole. When I was testing it with a friend she said it looked like a deep-sea fishing pole.

Like the description says, it does have provisions to run your own cable through it, but one design flaw is that if you do that, you can't collapse it down all the way, which means it won't fit in the nylon bag. The sections of the pole also rattle quite a bit when collapsed down to 6 or 8 feet.

I bought it and then returned it the next day to get a K-Tek KE-69CC which is a 6-foot aluminum pole with the cable built in for the same price. The KE-69 (no cable inside) is also a cheaper option and I'm pretty sure you can run your own cable through it.

You just have to decide if you want to pay for length or quality.

This unit was not on display at B&H so I was buying it based on what I saw online. If I had seen it in person, I would not have bought it.

I am returning the product due to the fact that I would actually be afraid to use it at full length with anything more than a basic mic on it.

I was really hoping this would be a great back up to my current 9ft pole.
I tried it with a full rycote and 416. I thought the pole would break.
I guess you get what you pay for, but I would not trust the pole hovering over a talents head.

I use two of these at every shoot. Light enough that they don't tire out the holders, and heavy duty enough to support my shotgun microphones.

It is very light. Boom operator isn't the best job one could have when one's just doing this as a favor to the director, so I wanted to make it as feather-pillowed as possible. But it's flimsy. The rings don't look like they'll hold up very long, and one isn't even connected to any of the sections. It's just there. I don't understand what its purpose is. Now that I write it down it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I still judge its quality based that one free-floating ring. I'm too cheap and ignorant to really care, though.

Great pole. Only one small detail, twist locks have a hard tim with a blimp attached on the pole. You really have to try to crank the twist locks. Hard to loosen once tightened.
