This bag is a bombshell. Construction is sturdy. The bag stands up on its own even when empty. The bag and the shoulder strap are well-padded. Velcro silencers are a great option. Gray and red color scheme is fantastic. It doesn't look like a typical camera bag.

Comes with plenty of velcro dividers for customizing the interior layout! You may not need all of them. The interior is as deep as it is wide. This is good for lots of storage, but might make access to things at the bottom of the bag difficult.

The laptop sleeve will not fit anything over 14". My laptop is 14-1/4" wide and it will not fit in this bag no matter how hard I try (very stiff construction). If it had been exactly 14" wide, it probably would fit.

I wish there was a small zippered pocket on the front flap for a cell phone...

My bag came with a flaw. One of the pockets that the velcro silencer slide into was not entirely stitched shut -- basically there is a hole in the bottom of the pocket big enough to stick two or three fingers inside the lining. Haven't decided if it's worth returning it or not. It is a lot of money to spend for a bag that has a flaw, however little it might affect the performance of the bag.

Crumpler makes outstanding products period. I had the 5 MDH with my old Nikon D90 and stepped up to a D3s and need the room. This bag has it without being too big to carry while walking Chicago etc. It also does not look like a stereo typical camera bag. The velcro that is used is so strong that it is simply amazing. I can also fit my 13" Macbook Pro in the bag which is a huge added plus for editing on the road.

I like my bag to have a little extra room in it so I can carry a smaller book, some snacks if I need them, etc. Right now I have a D90 body with 18-135mm attached, with hood affixed, sb-900 in its original case, gorillapod Focus with ballhead attached, Sigma 150 Macro with collar, Miscellaneous cords, cards, lenspens, Manuals, etc. If I had to I could fit my 70-300, 18-55, 50 Prime, old D50 body in there as well, it would just get tight. The bag is not quite as big as you'd expect. I wouldn't go much smaller than this bag, but as I said, I like having unused space in the bag for misc. things. If you put a ton of things in the bag, you'll have to stack them on top of each other, so become a good packer if you're not yet. The bag is bombproof- incredibly sturdy straps (they're about twice the thickness of a seatbelt), thick, tough material for the bag- I see this lasting for a long long time. The inner flaps could be a touch larger, but they'll do. My bag has a mis-stitched section where the inner green part sticks out of the bag where it attached to the flap. I don't foresee it being a problem, it just doesn't look as tidy as it could. I suppose for a [$]bag it should be perfect though, right? I love the bag. I travel a lot for work, and this always gets thrown in my rig. It doesn't stand out as a camera bag and actually looks stylish. It stands up on its own when set down, and the velcro is ridiculously strong. Buy the bag. You'll probably like it. I gave it 4 stars because it's not quite perfect but QUITE good. I'm enjoying the heck out of mine.

The current 7 Million Dollar Home that I currently own isn't spacious enough to hold something like a Canon 1Ds Mark III and a Canon 70-200mm lens without gutting all of the padding and laying the unit on its side; that doesn't leave room for much else unless you want to pile items on top of the camera, which I don't, so I tried out the Crumpler 8 Million Dollar Home. It allows the above kit to stand vertically and the padding is Crumpler's typical excellent quality material.
The major design flaw is in the new shoulder pad that comes with the 8 Million Dollar Home Bag. It's considerably narrower than previous offerings, so if you need to adjust the shoulder strap and the larger plastic buckle ends up near your shoulder, the padding will NOT cover it; you end up with an enormous buckle digging into your body. This made me all shades of uncomfortable, and I finally solved it by using the pad from my 7 Million Dollar Home bag to cover the buckle. The flaw is so major that the older pad almost wraps around the new pad - that is a HUGE drawback!
You may also want to pay attention where you place this bag, it appears more prone to tipping over than their previous bags.
I think, given the size of this bag, that a waist strap, like the one that they've included in the Brazillion Dollar Home would be very useful and welcome.
All of these easily addressed issues make me question who Crumpler talks to before putting a bag on the market!
