Comments about Onkyo HT-S5200 Home Theater System (Black):
I built a home theater from scratch and wanted sound that would match the awesomeness of the room, but also didn't want to spend thousands of dollars. That's where the s5200 came in. Simplistic styling, great sound, multi HDMI ins with one HDMI out (to the projector) allows me to hook up my cable box, PS3, Blu-Ray (if I don't use the PS3)and I still have extra for future expansion. I am no audio-phile, so to me the sound is great, although I am sure others would argue the more you spend the better the sound. For me, however, this Onkyo was a great buy and very good value.

Comments about Onkyo HT-S5200 Home Theater System (Black):
I had a salesman suggest Onkyo at a local retailer a few years ago and I was impressed by the sound at the store display but I was skeptical. My current system died so I ordered the Onkyo recently... All I can say is wow! Easy to install, plenty of power, and it sounds great. The only excess noise I hear is all my nic nacs that are around my living room shaking from the shear volume of this system.

Comments about Onkyo HT-S5200 Home Theater System (Black):
I am very pleased with my purchase. System sounds great, has tons of cool features, ability to customize to your setup, and more.
The only thing negative is that the subwoofer goes into standby mode when it does not receive any signal for a certain amount of time. When it does come back on, it has a slight pop. Even though this is not a huge annoyance, it is the only reason I didnt give the product the full 5 star rating.

Comments about Onkyo HT-S5200 Home Theater System (Black):
I purchased this HTIB for my bedroom this is a good product for the money, but you get what you pay for. The receiver does not process audio via HDMI. The speakers and receiver look very sleek and stylish.
The fact that this receiver does not decode HD audio formats over HDMI makes it impossible to recommend for any type of home theatre application. Overall it is pretty good, but can not recommend this for anyone that wants 7.1 sound.

Comments about Onkyo HT-S5200 Home Theater System (Black):
I was in the market to replace my older home theater, did my research and found the onkyo was the one that I wanted to go with and the price was within my budget. It was easy to hook up and set up. I use the system for watching movies and for just watching regular tv. It sounds great from both.

Comments about Onkyo HT-S5200 Home Theater System (Black):
Sounds good, but the HDMI pass through stinks. You can't play sound through the HDMI wire to the system the speakers, the sound only passes through to the TV. You need to connect a separate audio wire, to play sound to the Onkyo speakers, and then that doesn't give you true 7.1 sound. Also, there's issues passing video through at 1080p. It will only pass 720p or 1080i through to the TV, not 1080p. If I connect the bluray player directly to the TV, it will pass 1080p through. I therefore can't leave the Bluray resolution set to Auto or 1080p. I have to keep it set lower. Pretty annoying having a 1080p TV that you can't watch 1080p on, unless you run separate wires to the TV & receiver.
