Olympus FL-BK04 Flash Bracket for the Olympus E-System Digital SLR Cameras
A flash bracket such as this Olympus FL-BK04 Bracket attaches to the base of an Olympus E-series camera and provides a platform for a shoe-mount flash away from the camera's hotshoe. When the path of the flash output is too close to the angle of the lens, issues like red-eye, hardened shadows, and flattened light tend to mar otherwise pleasant photos.
- The bracket can be assembled with different combinations of its parts, allowing the mounting of an external flash on either the left or right side of the camera which enables vertical flash shooting. The opening angle of the arm can be positioned in 45° increments to adjust the distance between the lens and flash.
- When the FL-50R flash (not included) is used, the side of the flash can be positioned securely to ensure minimal shake and wobble.
- An external flash can be mounted without interfering with the camera's dual-axis variable LCD monitor, providing hassle-free Live View shooting at any angle.
- The mounting height can be adjusted in 5 steps for versatile positioning.

A well made strong bracket but complex to set up and fold away. It allows may configurations. What I like best is that it allows having the flash directly above the lens in portrait mode however this requires the use of a grip.

This is very solidly constructed bracket. The quality is up to the high standard expected of Olympus. Cons are:
- Does not come with a cable connector
- The foot attached to the camera body is not positively fixed so tends to rotate unless it is tightened by an Arnold Schwarzenegger
