Grado SR60i Dynamic Open-Air Stereo Headphones
Based on the popular SR60, the SR60i headphones from Grado retain the cool, retro look and actually improve upon the already-great sound quality. Designed for long-lasting comfort and durability, the headphones feature an adjustable headband and large foam ear cushions. An upgraded driver design with an improved mass distribution reduces transient distortion and offers greater control over the upper and lower ranges of the frequency spectrum. The drivers are matched within 0.1dB and housed in a non-resonant air chamber for terrific support of all audio frequencies.
Both the voice coil and the connecting cord are made from copper wire for a clean, clear signal. Connection is made with a standard 3.5mm stereo mini plug, and a 1/4" adapter is included for connecting to professional audio equipment.

I am just an average joe that wanted to experience an audiophile headphone. I own Sennhieser px100 and Koss pro 35. These two headphone are very forgiving for the average listener. What I mean by that is they artificially enhance the sound... Bass etc. I did allot of research and found the SR60's as the way to go... I bought them and I must give fair warning. For someone who is taking the step to audio headphones of this nature, it will take some getting used to. The way you thought your music is supposed to sound will not sound the same with these headphones. These headphones do a remarkable job of sound reproduction. Accurate sound reproduction. So that means if you have a less than stellar quality mp3 these cans will bring them to light. After about a week of listening to my music collection, I now know what the music is really supposed to sound like... No artificial base etc... The highs are great, but the mids is where the cans shine... The base response is adequate when the music demands it (ie. designed songs with low frequecies)... That is the one area that can improve... No bass heads need purchase these cans..... Overall, these phones are excellent, but beware that the way you are used to listening to your music will change. For the better!!!

Excellent product reproducing much of the auditory spectrum, I suggest you pair it with a small DAC also the exceptional NuForce UDAC-2 you can then easily compared to higher-end headphones.

Great for seated audio or the commute ... but not great for sports like skiing or climbing ... they run a bit big. (but are warm)
The sound is great, really deep and clear.
The headphones themselves don't fold up, so they don't travel well in a pack, and are a bit fragile.
The cord is really, thick, which may help the bass. -The bass is very rich.
Overall, nice piece, quality construction and sound.... and Made in America!!

I use the headphones with my ipod . I bought a Mcoy headphone amp for these but the amp is a little to much for them . The large sound stage and well blended mids and highs are very impressive for such a cheap set of cans . My only con for these would be they don't reproduce the lows very well .

I listen to a wide array of genre and I was looking for a budget high quality headphone. After a few days of research, I got SR60i. After a long long time I am hearing tones and beats and flicks in the audio track that I've barely heard before. I am in fact upgrading from a worn out >$100 sony over the ear. The SR60i looks vintage (I like it), but closer examination shows that it is almost made of cheesy plastic with cords running through a plastic tube that twists. But looks and capability are two different subjects when it comes to SR60i. All in all, it is highly modable headphone and is just amazing at what it is supposed to do.

I use this product on my iPad and antique McIntosh 1900 receiver. The fidelity is phenomenal; what one would expect from a Grado product. I also like the dual size plug, fitting contemporary devices and older devices.
And, its American made in Brooklyn New York. Its great to see quality American made products.
The phones themselves are constructed of lightweight plastic and while I have no reason to doubt the longevity of this product, it lacks the heavy duty appearance of competing products. I rate this product as 4.5 out of 5 and I'm very fussy.

I owned a pair of SR-60s for about 10 years before they finally gave out due to accidentally snagging the cord on a table, something I'd done probably a hundred times before. It took me all of 15 minutes before I ordered another pair. It was an easy decision given that these are one of the best purchases I've ever made.
If you are passionate about music, you will not regret buying these. You will feel closer to your music and discover subtleties you've never heard before. They sound as good or better than a $1000 stereo, but you can take them anywhere. I find them extremely comfortable even with glasses and listen for hours at a time without any soreness.
The one thing you should be aware of before buying these, though, is that they are open headphones. This means that other people can easily hear your music, so they are not suitable for work environments. Otherwise, I recommend them without any reservations.

This is my second set of Grado cans (previous pair was original SR60) and I love them. I'm a huge fan of bang-for-the-buck products and this definitely falls into that category. The clarity is exceptional. Sometimes I will be listening to a song I've heard a million times through other speakers (car, home stereo, etc) and I will notice something I had never heard before.

These were definitely worth the price, and the sound is amazing. With an affordable amplifier they really perform at their peak. Even without an amp, these headphones make songs take on multiple dimensions, I call it the "room effect", where you feel like you're listening to music being played from multiple points in a room, all around you, near and far. I'm appreciating old songs in ways I had never heard them before. Using them to edit music I made in Garageband, and I can hear the bass in samples that I wasn't able to hear on my computer speakers. I love these headphones! if you buy these, do know that they take about a week to "break in" before you really hear the awesome sound they are capable of.
