The SR225i from Grado is a high-quality, open-air stereo headphone that's great for hi-fi applications. Based on the design of the SR125i, the SR225i is lightweight and rugged, with an adjustable headband and cushioned earcups for long-lasting comfort. An improved rear metal screen increases airflow, and the upgraded drivers are matched within 0.05dB to provide an enlarged soundstage and low coloration.

The headphones have a non-resonant air chamber, and the voice coil is made from ultra-high purity long-crystal copper wiring for natural, clear audio. The 8-conductor connecting cord provides precise control over the upper and lower ranges of the frequency spectrum. In order to improve detail, the diaphragms are put through a "de-stressing" process. For open, natural sound that puts you right in the mix in comfort and style, look no further than the SR225i.

Comments about Grado SR225i Open-Air Dynamic Stereo Headphones:

I really thought I knew the sound of music. My Sony MDR 600 V 600's served me very well over the years. Great sound with a reasonable price. Till now.... I splurged for my Birthday and bought the Grado SR225i. From my Beethoven's strings and chorus to my Beatles harmonies, to the beautifully mind rocking bass of Pink Floyds Welcome to the Machine and the mellow rips of Al Jareau's golden throat, I have now HEARD my music. These headphones are simply the best money I have ever spent in electronics. 50+ hours on them and still getting better every day. Yes they do take some time to acclimate to the ear cushions. They are now breaking in nicely. I noticed a lot of reviews stating they are OK for using on mp3 players or phone or ipods however, I agree they are "OK" for that purpose, but these phone are meant to be DRIVEN. My Art Headamp 4 does the job beautifully, gracefully, without so much as a hint of distortion or hiss. I tested the others, Beats, Sennheiser, shures, sonys, technicas, but something about these just caught me and didn't let go. The stage is amazing! Yes there are some fall shorts. The lack of a 1/8 jack, the cushion's that take some getting used to and break-in. Ahh but the sound...... Heaven!

Comments about Grado SR225i Open-Air Dynamic Stereo Headphones:

I use this with my ipod and home stereo and the sound is great, they are comfortable too. I have no real complaints about this product although I am thinking of buying the amplifier from Grado for the ipod except It is wayyy too expensive. Bass could be a little better hence the amplifier thought.

Comments about Grado SR225i Open-Air Dynamic Stereo Headphones:

This is used mainly for listening to ipod at home. The sound is good but I was hoping the around ear faom would help block a little outside noise but it doesn't at all. It's great if you use it with little to no static noise around you but if you plan to use it in a normal household environment, plan to have it a bit louder or look for noise cancelling.

Comments about Grado SR225i Open-Air Dynamic Stereo Headphones:

I needed headphones to use with my computer -- not a big deal, but I don't like earbuds and I didn't want to pay Bose prices, nor did I want the noise-cancelling feature. So I read through the reviews on this and other sites. These seemed to be good and good value, so I ordered them.

When they arrived I had to run to Radio Shack to get an adapter, to make the old-style fat plug into the little one that would fit into the outlets on my computer and microphone. Then I was good to go.

The headphones are great -- nice clean sound, so I can listen for hours. They work better on my stereo, which makes use of the factory-provided plug, but they are fine for the music-listening and language-lab-type stuff I do on the computer, as well. The sound is crisper and cleaner than it is with my Bose headphones -- which one is better is probably a matter of personal preference -- and I can use them for longer without aural discomfort. The physical fit and feel of the two brands of headphones is equally agreeable to me.

I like them. If I needed another pair of non-sound-cancelling headphones, I'd get another pair of these. So why not five stars? It's the foam earphones. I happened to get a pair of earphone covers at the same time. They improve the appearance and comfort of the earphones so much that I think they should just be included as part of the original purchase.

the rs225i are a pleasure. after auditioning many brands and styles, i found the 225i's provided the best sound/comfort/value for my money. they are a specific use headphone; not for sports or very quiet or very noisy public environments. however, for critical listening and general music enjoyment, they are amazing.

These cans are the most transparent headphones I've ever heard. Be prepared to hear everything with neutral and balanced tone. A bit uncomfortable for thefirst few weeks, but they break in nicely. Go Grado!

Comments about Grado SR225i Open-Air Dynamic Stereo Headphones:

I upgraded to these from the SR60s; my appetite whetted again after hearing the indescribably fantastic HP-1000s, Grado's previous but discontinued flagship. Few other headphones have the groovy sound of Grados. The SR225i are much more comfortable than SR60s, and have better bass and detail. Yes, they're coloured in the upper bass and midrange, and no, they're not the last word in resolution, but they're also loads of fun and the 225is are great value. The tonal presentation is somewhat dark, but warm, rich and much more engaging than Sennheisers.
