The Pavilion dv7-2040us Entertainment Notebook Computer from Hewlett-Packard is a 17.3" widescreen laptop with a 16:9 aspect ratio display. The notebook features a striking exterior design, complete with the visually impressive HP Espresso Imprint Finish.
The system is powered by a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9000 CPU and boasts 4GB of RAM, 500GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive capacity, a SuperMulti DVD Burner with LightScribe, an integrated webcam, wireless Ethernet, and a 17" widescreen display powered by ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 graphics. Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit) is the platform that ties all this hardware and software together.

This computer is a replacement for a dead desktop. While I plan to purchase a desktop in the future (I am old school and do HD video production), this computer has an excellent video card and processor. Wife is amazed as to how much faster it is compared to our old desktop -- and it is MUCH faster than my dual core that work provides. Highly recommended.
