The Mac Pro RAID Card from Apple is a PCI Express x4 expansion card for the Mac Pro. The card adds hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 0+1, and Enhanced JBOD support to the computer. It features 512MB of cache and integrated battery that can store cache data for up to 72 hours. It installs in the top PCIe slot of the Mac Pro.

Installed in a MacPro 4,1. Single RAID 5 set using four 2TB internal drives. The OS drive was mounted in the 2nd optical bay using a simple adapter to secure the drive. About 5.3TB of storage space available after config.
Very easy to install and configure. It did take over 8 hours to initialize but I don't have anything to benchmark that time requirement against.
