Whether you plug in a DVD or Blu-ray Disc player, a high definition TV, an iPod or even a turntable (they say vinyl is making a comeback!) the Onkyo HT-S7200 will envelope you in rich, full sound that is faithful to its source. And you can plug in all of those devices and more with the HT-S7200's wealth of inputs and outputs.
As if these aren't enough it's also an AM/FM receiver with up to 40 preset channels.
The HT-S7200's HDMI inputs and output are version 1.3a, which means it's Deep Color and x.vColor capable. What are they? Two names for the same advancement. The ability to display as many as 68 billion (billion with a "B"!) colors, far more than the eye can discern. Precisely because of this, colors look smoother and more lifelike. Blocky artifacts in dark scenes are a thing of the past and the entire viewing experience is enhanced. An increasing number of HDTVs and Blu-ray Discs support the new standard and the HT-S7200 is ready for all of them. It's also ready for your iPod. You can connect it by way of the included UP-A1 dock that plugs into the receiver/amplifier's Universal Port. The Universal Port also allows you to plug in Onkyo's optional HD radio tuner. The HT-S7200 can handle your legacy gear, today's gear and the innovations that are only now becoming common.

Comments about Onkyo HT-S7200 Home Theater System (Black):
At this point I can mostly comment on the setup of this system: After having read the manual online (before it actually arrived) I felt that the setup was quite simple. Everything worked as expected the first try. (Not always the case with me) The calibration setup was also very straightforward.
We haven't used it enough yet to really figure out which of the many settings we prefer, but it's such a huge upgrade over our previous sound that it hasn't mattered yet.
The only problem I encountered in setup was trying to program the remote for my other devices (I was doing it without HDMI and therefore no onscreen menu displayed on my TV) I eventually found a supplemental booklet (that I hadn't previously noticed) that included all the codes. Now it works great.
The iPod dock is a big bonus. It recognizes the input and brings everything to life just by placing the iPod in and pushing play. Look forward to using this system and catching up on some movies we have missed. Very pleased so far.
