Onkyo's DV-BD507 Blu-ray Disc player is one of the most the most sophisticated players on the market today. Thanks to its HDMI 1.3a output it can make your TV screen detonate with more than one billion colors and more. The DV-BD507 can display so many colors that problems like color banding and posterization effects disappear.
But the DV-BD507's advantages go far beyond its deep rich color. It can upscale your old DVDs to 1080p, making them seem almost as good as high definition. And this player also has superb studio-quality lossless surround sound from Dolby and DTS.
If you have a camcorder that records high definition video on SD/SDHC cards (standard, mini or micro) in the AVCHD format you can watch your home movies right on your TV, thanks to the DV-BD507s SD/SDHC slot. It can also play DVD±R/W discs.
Plug the DV-BD507 into your Internet connection and you can take advantage of all of the interactive features and content that BD-Live discs offer.
Some new Blu-ray Discs come with "Bonus" content, which is picture-in-picture content recorded right on the disc. It can consist of commentary, alternative views, production stills and much more. The DV-BD507 recognizes a bonus disc automatically and allows you to choose whether or not to display its bonus content.

Precisely because the color range goes beyond the eye's ability problems like color banding and posterization are eliminated. The result is the most life-like image you can see from a consumer device.
- 1080p Upconversion
- Sometimes the effect is subtle (upconverting from 720p) and sometimes it's simply amazing (bringing new life to your old 480i DVDs). Everything looks better in 1080p.
- Great for Watching Home Movies
- If your high definition camcorder records in the ever more popular AVCHD format on DVD±R/W discs or SDHC cards you can use the BD507 to watch them on your high definition TV. No video or audio conversion is needed.
- Bonus View for Picture-in-Picture Audio and Video
- Blu-ray Discs with Bonus view contain their own picture-in-picture content much like DVDs can contain secondary audio tracks for director's commentary and so on. But on a bonus disc the commentary can have production stills, alternative views of the action or just about anything. And of course you choose whether or not to view the bonus material.
