I have been using Canon Cameras, video cameras, scanners, printers for years. They are hard to top in my book. This scanner does the job that other scanners costing hundreds of dollars more do. The only reason I upgraded is because my previous Canon scanner, which lasted for years, is not compatible with Windows 7. Last but not least, once again, B&H had the lowest price. I am very happy with their service, [...] and low prices.

Too much noise in scanning.
It scans fine, but I object to the noise it makes doing its job. My other scanners are all very quite.

Great for scanning old photos in and easy to use even for someone older who is relatively not computer savvy.

Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
Great scanner - good quality, fast, and well-designed. The software/driver isn't intuitive and took a little while to get used to, but does the job just fine. The Canon brand has yet to disappoint me!

Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
I purchased this scanner for use in the classroom from funds generated by our generous PTSA (Parent, Teacher, Student Association). Thus far, we've used it to scan storyboards for student video projects and it really picks up the details. Initially, I had my students sketch their storyboards in pencil but noticed the scans came out out more boldly when they traced them in black ink.
Students have commented how streamlined it looks and I've noticed how quietly it scans.
I've experimented with scanning color images and noticed the detail and accuracy. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.

Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
The maximum scan resolution in standard mode is only 600dpi and 1200dpi in the advanced mode. For negatives the maximum resolution is 9600dpi and the scan came out great but it took seven minutes for one negative. The automatic multi-crop function sometimes blurred scans but the manual multi-crop worked well. I have a canon scanner similar to this one I bought ten years ago. This new scanner is only slightly better for photos but it's much for negatives.

I had to replace my HP Scanjet 3300C because no one wanted to make a driver for it for Vista of Mac.
I like my LiDE 700F!! My purchase was for my online college studies. I scanned 32 pages of Calculus homework (in no time at all) into one continuous PDF file. The settings screen was easy to use (math homework need not be in color at the highest resolution).
I also wanted a scanner that works with my Windows laptop and Apple MacMini. This scanner has me covered.
Looking forward to the options of scanning photos and artwork.

Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
I work in graphic design/3d animation and found the scanner to work quite amazingly. There was on e problem the software disc wasn't recognized on my older computer ( although other discs work fine in that same computer) so to install the software I had to copy the info on the disc from my newer computer and had to network the install .exe files to a folder on the older computer. As for BandH what can I say I love that store [...]

my wife relies on email for her business, but neither of us type. so i scan her handwritten notes and email pdfs on her behalf. recipients really like the personal aspect. this replaced an hp product that was much less reliable, much slower, and had a much less user friendly mac interface.

As always, Canon works first time. Great scanner and simple to use. Very convenient buttons on scanner for a quick copy.
It would be nice if the E mail button would offer the choice to use Thunderbird instead of just Outlook Express.

Easy to set up and get on to what you bought it for. Scans look great and works well. I have not used the 35mm accessory - I have only used it to scan documents, which is why I bought it.

Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
A good choice and excellent value for all-around scanning. A little bit slow on full color, but very accurate. BW scans are fast. The one-step buttons on the scanner are handy, especially for making copies and multiple-page pdf's. The setup was quick and easy, as was installing the software on my Mac.

It's slick appearance at first glance will make anyone think it's a laptop, I've been using this scanner for the past few weeks and I'm amazed how fast and user friendly this scanner is, it's best feature I thought was being able to scan books without tearing out pages and the ability to send scanned pictures directly to emails addresses.

Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
I bought the LiDE 700F to digitize photo albums. The scanner preforms marvelously, cropping multiple photos and very fast. Saved me hours of edits, it literally took longer to get photos out of the albums than to scan them. Install was very painless, software took a bit to adjust to. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the purchase and will be doing business with B&H in the future.
Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
I've used this product primarily for scanning book chapters and photographs, with great results for each. Set up and installation of software was easy, and creating both .jpg and multi-page .pdf files was intuitive and relatively effortless.

Comments about Canon LiDE 700F Canoscan Flatbed Scanner:
I bought the cannon 700F to up grade, also to use when I travel. At just over 4 Lb it's no problem for carry on with my laptop.
It's seams fast, in about 6 hours with breaks I was able to scan 221 photos of various sizes.
The hole family has used daily for 4 months and several trips so far it it's been great! we scan every thing from high resolution photos to text books.
I would buy it again and recommend it to any one.
