Nice player, small footprint. Plays Blu-ray discs very well. Does a decent job of upsampling DVDs. Seems to play self-burned DVDs without any problems too. One anomaly, one Blu-ray disc (Starship Troopers) wouldn't play until I added a 2 GB USB key (about 10 bucks) of additional memory to the unit. I found that tip searching the net.

This was my first Blu-Ray player purchase and after reading online I understood this unit had some Internet ability. I was disappointed to find out that it only has the ability to update itself online and play content from specifically designed Blu-Ray discs (BD-Live enabled). Otherwise the unit does not have ability to stream movies from online sources. This was my misunderstanding of the BD-Live option. Overall, the device is adequate as a player, easy to use and with good HD picture quality. I would consider this to be a very basic unit. Had I better understood BD-live beforehand, I would have ordered a different box.

Comments about Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray Disc Player:
Firmware is not being updated or supported by Sony. This player is now unusable for playing newer Blu-ray films - this after being purchased less than a year ago. Sony support on this issue is poor. I will never buy a Sony product again.

Comments about Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray Disc Player:
Fine Blu-Ray player. I use it via HDMI so the video and audio are stellar.
Only down side is that even though it has an ethernet port, it can only stream BD movies and you have to buy some sort of accessory to even do that. There are plenty equivalent cost BD players with streaming so if I were you I'd buy one of those.

Comments about Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray Disc Player:
It plays DVD's AND Blu Ray Disks. It has an "up" feature that improves DVD quality. The HDMI feature is as simple as plug and play. Also, I bought an HDMI cable online for $3 [...]. As long as you stay at 6' or less there's no need to pay more. Some of the BRD player's functions are not on the actual disks that you put in. Because of new technology things are not always compatible! In short; however, I like it.

This player is awesome. It's connected to the Sony KDL32XBR9 and the picture is stunning. I also burn AVCHD videos which look spectacular and play flawlessly. The upconversion even makes dvd's I've burned from VHS look great.

In addition to Blu-ray discs, I use this player to play regular DVD's and DVD's made on the Sony VRD-MC10 Multi-Function Recorder. I can make DVD's from 8mm and VHS tapes on the recorder and play them on the Blu-ray Player. Also, I use the player to play music CD's. Shortly I will use it to play DVD's from my camcorder.

Comments about Sony BDP-S360 Blu-ray Disc Player:
Sony makes a solid Blu-Ray player. Easy set-up and Internet capabilities make this an obvious choice. Was confused for a bit about where to insert the DVD, but this player has a flap you need to pull down in order to put in the disk. That actually makes it a sleek, modern design that blends in. Great upgrade from my old machine, which was about 4 inches thick.

I use the blu ray for watching rental dvds and the difference in the picture is awesome. The sharpness and increased tones make the movie come right out at you.
