I am not sure why I never discovered Wacom Intuos tablets before, especially trying to learn Adobe Photoshop CS4. This is an awesome tool for Photoshop users. I am at about the stage of using $200 bucks worth of the $600 plus software, but the Intuos4 tablet is really making it easy to apply and learn Dodge, Burn, and brush tools, for example. This is so much better then using a mouse (but comes with one if you need it). The pen really helps with precision and feels much more natural in your hand then the mouse does giving you a much more precise ability to manipulate the tools within the photograph. I would highly recommend this to any Photoshop or Illustrator style software users. My only piece of advice here is pay close attention to the size of the tablet and its working area. Most people will probably want a medium. The small would be more compact for laptop users, and the larger models would likely be better for illustrators. The working area is mapped to your screen. The size of the work area and the precision of the movements of the pen should increase as the work area increases in each size.

I had trouble getting the tablet to work with my laptop and Windows 7. I went to Wacom's website for tech support and received an email the next day. I followed the instructions concerning the re-install of the driver and still no joy. The follow up email from Greg stated that the tablet should not be connected to a docking station or usb hub. I plugged the cable directly into the laptop and now it works fine. 5 stars to their tech support.

Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Digital Tablet (Medium):
On a Windows 7 machine the Intuos 4 medium size was nearly effortless to set up. The included mouse (no batteries needed) was a bonus, as now I have a highly durable and functional pen tablet and mouse, giving me an neat and functional desktop. There is a learning curve in using a graphics pen so don't be discouraged on its use, practice and master it.

Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Digital Tablet (Medium):
The Intuos4 Tablet completes Photoshop and to a smaller degree, Adobe LightRoom.
Easy to use, and fully customizable for all software using keyboard commands, this external hardware makes the pen mightier than the mouse.
One of the best time saving functions that I like is brush sizing on the fly, as well as controlled, finite touch up with the pen.
I purchased this product specifically for graphic use. The pen works as well as any pencil or fine brush I have ever used.
As for surfing the internet, save time and pen nibs. I suggest a full size Logitech TrackMouse, as it's faster and takes less effort, with only the movement of one thumb, and an occasional forefinger.

I have used the Intuos 3 and Graphire 3 tablets. The Intuos 4 is way more responsive to the touch. I have noticed that it actual does seem pretty accurate to what I could draw on paper. I like the wheel for increasing brush sizes and the like, haven't really used the buttons much yet, but didn't on the others either.

Excellent sensitivity. Ability to adjust pressure is good. Scroll ring is very helpful as are the other command keys. Not sure how it could get better.

Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Digital Tablet (Medium):
I use AE, FCP, PP, PS and this has proved extremely useful. Much more accurate than a mouse. Covers my 2 30" cinema displays with the top half of the tablet. This is the right size for me. I can't imagine having to navigate on a larger tablet, would also take too much space on my desk. I'm not using the side buttons at all. Keyboard is placed behind the tablet on my desk. In this case I actually wish the table was wider to cover the width of the keyboard on my mac.
Now I use this for almost everything, mail, browsing, etc.. sometimes use the mouse as well, for quick browsing. But the PEN has effectively stopped any of the physical pain related to mouse use.
It took me about a week to 2 weeks to be fully used to the tablet. I was surprised on how quick the transition was. But I would have to say that I adapt quickly to new things.

This thing is fantastic. I'd been looking at the smaller tablets you can get from Big Box Retailers but when I spotted this bundled with Lightroom I jumped at it. I have no regrets. Besides using it with Lightroom I've already tested it out with Photoshop and Illustrator. The graphic design courses I've taken have all used nothing more than a mouse and a few keyboard shortcuts. This moves that work up to the professional realm. I can't see how any graphic designer could work without one.

This is the first tablet I've owned in many years, and I'm having a blast working with it-in fact, I'm writing this review with it. The tablet is easy use and is Very precise. I've used it for editing photos in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and silver Efex Pro 2. I would recommend This tablet to anyone and everyone.

Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Digital Tablet (Medium):
I purchased the Intuos 4 Medium as an upgrade from my ancient 12" x 18" Wacom "Model UD Digitizer". I loved that tablet, but after an extensive but unsuccessful search for a means to make it work on Win 7 64 bit, I finally bit the bullet, and spent my hard earned cash on the Intuos 4.
I had no idea that I was garaging the tablet equivalent of a Model T, and climbing into a Mclaren MP4.
This tablet is a dream tool, superbly conceived and beautifully built. Moreover, when I had to contact Wacom customer service with a minor software question, I found myself speaking with a knowledgeable, college educated person with a fine sense of humor, BASED RIGHT HERE IN THE USA!!!
If you do photography or other graphic work, buy one of these tablets. It will enormously improve the quality of your work, your productivity, and your outlook on life in general! And as the medium tablet is exactly the size of a 15.6" laptop (but less than a half inch thick), get the nicely made soft case as well. You will find yourself enjoying your time in local cafe more than ever.
No, I am in noway associated with Wacom or it's subsidiaries. I'm just a very, very happy new owner of an Intuos 4.

This tablet is just as sensitive as the product description claims. There is never any delay in the response from the pen tip, no skipping, and always accurate. Just as others have stated, I do not know how I have worked so long without this, and I am just getting started!

I am a retired web and graphic designer and enthusiastic amateur photographer. I work in Lightroom and Photoshop and purchased this to help mitigate issues with the keyboard and mouse due to arthritis.
It has exceeded my expectations. As a lefty I really appreciate the fact that it is designed to accomodate both right and left handed users.
It does require a slight learning curve and set up period, but once that was done I have found it to be well worth the money, and would definitely recommend it.

Just downsized from a 9x12" Intuos 3. This is the ticket for size since I need to travel with it from time to time and the new features. Wonderful. Fits perfectly with a 15" MBP from travel.

Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Digital Tablet (Medium):
I am new to the use of a tablet but it was suggested to me for re-touching photos. I viewed the training videos at [@] and [@]. I realized that it had a more universal use as a replacement for the mouse. Even having viewed training videos I was encouraged to get Colin Smith's & Weston Maggio's PhotoshopSecrets training video. An excellent investment I recommend. I am amazed at the potential short cuts available in use of the pen. I'm quite fond of my Mac supermouse but the Intuos4 Medium is rapidly taking its place. There's a learning curve to using the pen and setting up short cuts one mostly uses. With a little practice and setting it up, it provides a much swifter use of a variety of programs. No complaints thus far.

I am a graphic designer and an amateur photographer. This product allows me to get into detail like never before while retouching photos. Masking is a breeze. I do not use the Intuos 4 all the time only when I work on specific tasks but it makes those tasks so much easier....It's a great buy and I hope to use it more often in the future.
