Comments about Cowon D2+ MP3 Player:
Let me start by saying that, even though I am considering selling my 4GB model, I LOVE it, and it is still 100% functional. I operate in Fedora, Ubuntu (9.04 and 10.04), Windows, Mac, and several other OS's, and this thing mounts (works) in ALL 8 of them.
The menus will take a day or so to get used to, but that's the same with any new electronic device. The touchscreen works great, and it plays crystal-clear quality, works with 99.9% of songs I've added. And, for the price, it is quite competitive, in terms of options and storage size.
Now, to the downside. If you drive long distances (like I do) the touchscreen is quite clumsy to work while driving. Also, the lack of playlist compatibility isn't very fun, but I haven't found one playlist-compatible mp3 player that works in Linux, so I guess that's an acceptable loss. I just wish they'd add more push buttons to the exterior of the unit (i.e. two for volume and two for next/prev. song).
Drag and drop, easy to work with, excellent quality, no issues with the D2 that I've heard of (as far as serious/unresolved issues).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Comments about Cowon D2+ MP3 Player:
The Cowon D2+ is a fantastic little MP3 player. This particular model has a large flash based capacity which is easily expandable with an SDHC card. It has good quality sound, is reasonably easy to set up and use and best of all does not require proprietary software to communicate with.
I cannot stress that last enough. When connected to a personal computer it shows up as an external drive, you throw files onto it and you are done. No itunes or other software necessary. This is how things should be. It also plays a vast array of file formats including ogg and flac and has a pleasingly long battery life.
The Cowon D2+ is just about perfect and is only very slightly let down by a mildly clunky UI.

Comments about Cowon D2+ MP3 Player:
Easy to use with pocket size. Navigation system very intuitive. It can be done by tag or by folder.
It's not beauty as the Ipod touch.
But if you really want to hear your files, or/and record something with a mic (internal or external)or with line in, choose this.
Believe, it sounds great!

Comments about Cowon D2+ MP3 Player:
Although it has a lot of additional features, I got it primarily as an MP3 player, to listen through headphones and to connect to my car stereo. It sounds fantastic. The equalizer is very configurable. It's got lots of built-in settings. Plus you can create a bunch of your own settings: different settings for different headphones. And it plays for ages on a charge.
Some other features that I find useful are: Dynamic play list - add tracks to your own play list on the fly; bookmarks - save where you are in a particular track/folder so you can come back to it later, after listening to something else; audio recorder - build-in mic; built-in FM radio; notepad - write little notes on the touch screen; text file viewer.
The FM radio seems to work pretty well. But one thing I don't like about it is that the equalizer settings don't work for the radio. You've only got whatever the default settings are.
The text file reader is pretty basic. You can pick from a few color settings. But you can't change the font size.
Recording from the built-in mic only records as WMA. The recordings sound fine.
I've had no trouble downloading music to it. I can't comment on the supplied software though. I've only used it with Linux. It simply shows up as a removable hard drive and you can copy to/from it just as you would a USB thumb drive.
One feature I do wish it had is line-out. This would improve connecting it to a car stereo. As an alternative, I've used settings based on various web comments: Set the equalizer to flat & turn off all enhancements, and set the volume to 49. It sounds fine like that, but it's a little quiet. So you have to turn up the stereo louder then you do for CD or the car's FM radio.

Comments about Cowon D2+ MP3 Player:
Player has a lot resources to increase and modify equalization really efficient to improve sound quality. TV out works good for litle screens like car´s tv or CRT up to 20", to LCD from 20" to bigger screens quality decrease as the size goes bigger. SD card works as a native memory. That player has better sound quallity than my Zen X-Fi that is a litle more expensive player. Recomend.

Comments about Cowon D2+ MP3 Player:
I love the BBE function of this player, it makes the sound quality even better. The player is small enough for the pocket, but a little bit thick. The battery life is long, I can use it for the whole week without watching any vidio. It can accept only avi, so I have to convert all my vidios to avi, the quality is quite good though.
I can use it to play only two flash games, but think about it's just an MP3 player, it's acceptable.

Comments about Cowon D2+ MP3 Player:
It does support SD (SDHC) cards! The first thing you should know. How about having a 16 + 32 = 48GB solid state media player for $74 extra (which is 32gb sdhc cards' average price at the moment).
It supports pretty much all the common audio formats, with the exception of Apple ones, i.e. ALAC, AAC et cetera. FLAC, APE, OGG (any quality), MP3 (any quality), WMA, you name it.
Rockbox can now be installed too (with a dual bootloader to allow you to choose between the original FW and the Rockbox).
This thing sounds great. The amp is powerful enough even for Sennheiser HD-595, let alone Sony Z-700 or my Sennheiser CX400 earbuds that I got for it (they hiss a little, though!).
It plays video as well. Before getting it, I was only thinking about it as an audio player. But since I have converted most of my T*p Gear and N**er Mind The Buzz****s archives into 320x240 avis, the D2+ turned out to be so much more brilliant :D
Battery life is remarkable. I can't give you any figures right now, but since the battery and the circuit pretty much match those of the D2, you can easily find many comments on the web.
Some issues:
- Touchscreen controls and menu layouts may seem a bit confusing at first. After a day, it's a piece of cake, if only scrolling is a bit irritating, still.
- As of firmware version 2.02, there are still some bugs in the media database implementation, which can cause corrupt, erm, database entries if you upload files in a specific manner. Some people have not suffered from these issues at all. Anyway, more or less simple workarounds exist and are well documented on the web. Just search for "D2 database corruption" and you will find a solution, should you run into any problems.
Overall, it is a great little thing. And even if the design is not exactly the most elegant in the world, the sound quality, battery life and overall versatility make this one of the best options on the market.
