• BD-Live 2.0 Ready: This exquisite player enables full interactive access to down-loadable video content, ringtones, and games. In addition, it offers the ability to easily access (during live playback) additional Blu-ray content such as special subtitles, director's commentary, and movie trailers. Enjoy the ability to choose from 12,000 movies and TV episodes from Netflix (with optional subscription) for instant viewing without a disc; or easily listen to Internet Radio via Pandora (with optional subscription). Pandora provides digital music personalized to your particular taste.

• HDMI (ver. 1.3a) with 1080p Upconversion: This unit features an HDMI (ver. 1.3a) x.v.Color/Deep Color output, capable of upconverting video signals to 720p, 1080i, or full 1080p HD. This technology enables the XV-BP1 to carry the HD audio and video information through a single cable and to achieve the highest quality picture and clearest sound available. In addition, HDMI supports PCM multi-channel audio and Bitstream audio formats.

• Full 1080/24p Cinema Output: Since most Hollywood Blockbuster movies are acquisitioned at 24fps, and Blu-ray disc movies are mastered at the same rate, this player offers a 1080/24p video output that offers a true film-like experience in the privacy of your own home.

• Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD: If you have a 7.1-channel home theater receiver - you're in luck - this player is capable of decoding Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD audio. Dolby Digital Plus uses less compression than regular Dolby Digital to reproduce fuller and more dynamic sound effects with up to eight discrete channels of surround sound.

• Blu-ray Disc Features: A Blu-ray disc offers superb picture quality beyond anything available. With full capability 1080p HD resolution in Blu-ray and up to 40Mbps, encoding 5-10X the capacity of regular DVDs. It also features theater-quality uncompressed audio (supporting 8 channels of Liner PCM), up to 32 streams of audio, interactive capability, seamless menus, integrated games, hi-def bonus and educational features.

• HD Component Video Output: It achieves greater color accuracy and high resolution playback capability when connected via the HD component output to your HD projector, plasma and/or LCD/CRT televisions. It's capable of processing 1080i HD signals through the component video output.

• Multi-Format Versatility: It plays: Blu-ray Discs (BD-R, BD-RE), BD-ROM Profile 2.0, DVD-Video, DVD-R/W, DVD+R/W, CD, CD-R/W, MP3, WMA, and JPEG. Also, the player is backward-compatible, enabling playback of all your favorite DVDs in HD resolution.

• AVC-HD Media Compatibility: Enjoy the ability to play back your HD camcorder MPEG-4 AVC-HD (H.264) files in full HD resolution. AVC-HD discs encoded with x.v.Color (xvYCC) technology, an international standard for wide color space. It expands the current data range of video by about 1.8 times, resulting in more natural and vivid colors similar to what the human eye can actually see.

• BD-Java Interactive: This player supports BD-Java interactive functionality that offers unlimited versatility when creating interactive BD-ROM titles.

• Top-Notch Video Processing: This player utilizes a 148MHz/12-bit video D/A converter that provides high quality 4x over-sampling for the HD video output. Noise reduction video processing is utilized to further enhance the signal-to-noise ratio of more than 100dB through the analog output.

• Progressive Scan Technology: This is a progressive scan DVD player, capable of scanning an entire video frame at once; scan-lines commonly associated with interlaced video are drastically reduced. The result is a spectacularly clear image with no motion artifacts (stair-stepping), and details so sharp they seem as if they're etched onto the screen.

• Expanding Technology: BD incorporates stringent licensing control, powerful encryption and other content protection. The Blu-ray disc technology offers the ability to copy its data-content to your compatible components. Also, it offers the flexibility to make managed copies across a home network to enjoy music and movies on your PC.

• BonusView with Picture-in-Picture (PIP): This interactive player offers the ability to easily access (during live playback) additional Blu-ray content. Some BD-Video incorporates the PIP function in pre-selected scenes; BonusView enables you to display the secondary video source over the primary video.

• Ethernet//USB Ports: Built-in Ethernet and USB Host connections enable this player to be updated with future Firmware upgrades, applications and services, as well as for connecting to BD-Live. The USB port enables you to easily access your movie, photo, and music files stored on a USB flash drive. Note: for software upgrades, the USB port supports only a USB (FAT16 or FAT32 format) flash drive.

• Individual Graphic Planes: Two individual on-screen HD resolution graphic planes (top and bottom of screen) enable you to easily navigate through frame accurate graphics, subtitles, interactive graphic elements, buttons, or menu functions.

• Home Theater Friendly: Use the optical/coaxial digital audio outputs to connect the player to your home theater receiver and enjoy your favorite DVDs in surround sound.
