The Metz 36AF-4C Flash is the dedicated E-TTL II version in the Metz 36 series and will provide high-precision E-TTL exposure accuracy, even with digital SLR cameras. Furthermore, the integrated zoom reflector can be manually adjusted to the given focal length (between 28 and 85 mm), and the reflector can be tilted vertically 90°. It is a great all-purpose medium class flash for amateurs.

My primary use for flash is family shots. My Alpha 850 does not have a built-in flash, so I wanted something inexpensive and easy to use. This unit fills the bill. It works perfectly with TTL settings and has much more power than the little folding Sony unit. You have to zoom the head manually, but that's no problem for me. My only negative comment would be that the cover over the battery compartment is slightly flimsy, and if I grab the unit by the sides, it can come open. There is no wireless control of other units with this flash, but you can't expect that at this price.

I really like this flash. It is great for the price. I just used it with my sony A700 for a wedding this weekend and it worked great even in the dark reception hall. a million times better than the built in flash.
