The Aurora 16-VT from Lynx Studio Technology is a sixteen channel, mastering-quality AD/DA converter in a single-space rack-mount housing. This model includes variable trim pots on every input and output channel, which is a great option for anyone who needs the sound-quality and performance found in the standard Aurora 16, with the added ability to manually adjust input and output levels to match their specific needs.
The importance of high-quality A/D D/A converters tends to be somewhat mysterious to anyone unfamiliar with working with them. Understanding what they do and the positive impact they have on your sound is really simple. Almost everything you do in computer-based recording requires digital information to be converted into analog audio, and for analog signals to be converted into digital information. Everything you record and playback from the computer through your studio monitors and headphones is strongly influenced by the quality of your converters. Lynx has built a reputation over the years for providing some of the best sounding converters in the industry. Using the Aurora 16-VT will make everything you record and playback sound better. The front panel of the Aurora 16-VT is ergonomically designed to provide easy access to important controls and signal status. It features an on-board 32-channel digital mixer that provides extensive routing and mixing options. This system is capable of zero latency monitoring, and Lynx's proprietary SynchroLock jitter technology provides extreme jitter reduction and an extremely clean clock output. All analog and digital connections use DB25 connectors with industry standard pin-outs. You must remove the top panel in order to access and adjust the trim pots - otherwise its operation and features are identical to the standard Aurora 16.
