The Kodak Zx1 Pocket Video Camera (Black) is an easy to use, go anywhere camcorder for the YouTuber in your life. Resistant to water, dirt, and most other perilous substances, the Zx1 is an excellent choice for recording at the beach or on the slopes, not to mention pretty much everywhere in-between. Choose your capture mode: 720p HD video in 60 or 30fps (16:9) or VGA for standard definition recording. The Zx1 doesn't just take video though, you can also take 3MP stills. The included HDMI cable lets you share all the action on your HDTV with friends and family, while the included software lets you upload your footage to YouTube (PC only) with just a touch. The included software also lets you create your own video mash-ups with music and still pictures as well as grabbing still clips from video.

- The Zx1 records in 720p HD at both 60 frames per second and 30fps, for rich, detailed video on your HDTV and for viewing on compatible social media sites. You can also choose VGA (640 x 480) recording for networking sites that do not upload HD video

- Save your video clips to either the 128MB internal flash memory or add an optional SD/SDHC memory card (up to 32GB) and expand your storage up to 10 hours when recording in HD
- 1/4.5" 1.6MP CMOS Sensor
- The 1.6MP CMOS sensor not only provides you with stunning HD footage, it also gives you the option to shoot 3MP digital (interpolated) stills, making the Zx1 the only camera you need when you're out and about

I bought a refurbished unit from B&H thinking if I'm wasting my money, buy it cheap. I was wrong. Not only does the refurbished unit works like brand new, but the ZX1 works great for what it is. I've made videos and friends can't believe it came out of this little cell phone size camcorder.
Very important is to check the downloadable firmware for version 1.06. This will improve audio. It fixed the static and squeal. Also use Nm NI rechargeable batteries and have a few extra, it'll use up alkaline batteries quick.
Best of all, the size of it makes it a breeze to carry with me everywhere. Why have something bigger and fancier if you don't use it?

if you are looking for higher image quality, this may not be the correct one. Zooming is not really great.

Bought this to replace our previous video camera which was from 2001 and records to tape. We have tons of tapes and have never looked at them, so I thought it was time to upgrade. This is a great little video camera and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the user interface leaves a little to be desired. But the bottom line is it shoots 720p video easy and it fits in your pocket. For the money, this is a great deal!

great camera for the 70 dollars paid my oldest daughter has been very happy with the Zx8 she owns so i bought this for my younger daughter and although low light shooting isn't very good they seem to be pretty durable and outside shooting the picture is great i also have the kodak "sport" i think they call it well its my sons and he uses it for kayaking and that is a great little camera as well probably the best of them all but at about half the price the Zx1 was perfect for a 10 year old

I use the camcorder recreationally. The size and weight are very convenient. I already had large sdhc cards that work very well in it and love that it uses AA batteries. It does well with the rechargeable batteries that come with it but drains regular lithion AA batteries very quickly.
The quality is good with good lighting but not so good indoors.
