We purchased a new computer and needed to protect it. We trust APC as making the best UPS units out there and had to choose a model. I liked the 450 over the 550 because of the energy saving feature. We've been happy with the 550 and 750 units that we already own and so far the 450 has been great. Of course we shopped around and B&H had the best price.

Always happy with my battery back APCs, use them on all my electronics. Key thing to always remember, charge the 1st 24hours before plugging anything in. Have a battery that has last 5+ years still :)

Very easy set up and great price on this unit from B&H! I actually got a better price than from auction and used market sites.
Had it set up and running in about 15 minutes and it worked flawlessly when we had a power outage 2 days later. Got more than the rated time out of it.
Since I use my computer to trade the markets, backup during power outages could be costly and this unit performed on the mark.

I shopped around and B&H had the best price for this little guy. I just needed something to prevent my home office desktop from rebooting every time the power flickered. It does that and more. This unit has the management USB port on it so it will shut the computer down if you are not around and the battery is about to run out.

Great unit for one pc, but limited number of plugs means you'll have to pick and choose how much of your accessories (and monitor) to cover.
Installation of unit and PowerChute software was easy. Glad to have "piece of mind" with regards to power surges, sags, or outages not damaging my systems.
