The VAMP AC-3/M from Wohler/Panorama is a professional-quality high resolution audio and video device that's been designed for the specific task of simultaneously monitoring HD/SD-SDI digital video and AC-3 or AES/EBU digital audio. While it may not be the most practical gadget to have lying around the house, the VAMP AC-3 is indispensable in mobile production vehicles, TV studios, radio stations, VTR bays, and any situation associated with ATSC/DVB programming.
The VAMP AC-3/M features a built-in high-resolution 480 x 272 4.3" wide-format color LCD display to monitor video from HD/SD-SDI. NTSC and PAL signals are automatically detected and displayed. HD and SD video signals are also automatically detected and displayed in either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios.
In the event that polarity or phase cancellation should threaten the stereo/surround audio material, the VAMP AC-3 is equipped with LED warning lights to alert the operator. Internal left, right, and woofer speakers and six 53-segment LED meters allow you to monitor the audio, and a headphone jack mutes the speakers when in use. The VAMP AC-3/M is a great compact and portable solution when you need to reliably monitor multiple digital audio and digital video signals.
