The ExpoImaging Ray Flash Ring Flash Adapter is a unique flash adapter that will convert your Nikon SB-900flash unit into a ringlight flash. It works with Nikon D40/D50/D60/D70/D80/D90/D200 & D300 DSLRs, It simply slips over the front of the flash unit, and will fit any lens with a front diameter of no more than 4". It will replicate the lighting effect produced by traditional, expensive, and heavy powered studio ring flash units.
The light distribution is accomplished through a sophisticated system of internal prisms, reflectors and light-shapers designed to distribute and project the light evenly around the lens. Because the Ring Flash Adapter relies on the hot-shoe flash to generate its light, it contains no electronics, no flash tubes and requires no cumbersome cables. And in addition, TTL operation works exactly the same as with the flash itself.
The Ray Flash Ring Rlash Adapter is ideally suited for fashion, wedding, portrait, journalist and macro photography as either a main or fill-in light.
- The Ray Flash Ring Flash Adapter results in minimal light loss from the flash's standard output. It does not change a flash's color temperature.

Myself and others tried this product and didn't find it to be much better than the flash itself. The fit leaves a little to be desired. You would have to use rubber wedges to get a nice/tight fit. It still moves and can even have a slight tilt around your lens. The picture quality is fair. It will also block your lens sensors.

Great for macro work to get that even lighting across the whole subject. This product also creates a fantastic catch-light on your subject's eyes when used as a flash for portrait work. My first impression when I opened the packaging was that the product was real cheap and "plasticky" (if that's even a word!) but the ease of attachment to my D-300 and the quality of my shots give me a completly different opinion.
The ring can sag when attached and comes with a flimsy "wedge" that you place between the neck of the flash and the barrel of your lense. This works well but gives the whole process a cheap feel.

Does not fit well at all on my Nikon. They provide rubber WEDGES to assist in proper alignment...awful product...
