The Singh-Ray Daryl Benson 4x6" Reverse Neutral Density Graduated Filter is a unique and very effective way to control the balance of your foreground and an ultra-bright horizon line. This filter is designed to maintain control, i.e. hold back, the brightness of an excessively bright horizon area while allowing for more detail to be captured in the sky and foreground.
Often it is necessary or desirable to balance the light intensity in one part of a scene with another. This is especially true in situations where you don't have total light control, as in bright contrasty landscapes. Exposing for the foreground will produce a washed-out, over-exposed sky while exposing for the sky will leave the foreground dark and under-exposed. This filter enables cloud detail to be kept correctly exposed in the picture.
Determining which graduated neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters. Choose the filter strength which adjusts the lighting to stay within the exposure latitude (greatest difference between bright/dark values) which still shows details in both of the digital or film medium in use.
Speaking generally, the 2-stop value (ND 0.6 - the filter's clear portion allows 4x more light to pass vs. darkest portion) effectively compensates average bright sky-to-foreground situations, and the soft transition is applicable more often to a scene than the hard transition.

This is the best one in market. I did try with some other cheap brand by renting them but once I got this I never looked back. It does exactly what it says. True ND leaves no color cast. Do read the 1 page pamphlet that comes in the pack. That's much more worthy than it seems.
But one thing, this is not that great for APSC sensor as the graduation is too smooth with respect to the cropped sensor. But I got this because I am gearing up towards the full frame. I can't even take half a star off because of my own problem.

I have several square filters of Singhray, Lee, Cokin and Hitech, but this one is the best.
The finishing of this filter is great comparing to others. The color of the image taken using this filter was reproduced as origin.

Comments about Singh-Ray Daryl Benson 4x6" Reverse Neutral Density Graduated Filter (3-stop):
I use this filter mainly for seascape photography at sunrise. This is a great filter and when compared to a hard graduated ND, it does not make the top of the sky dark, rather only the most light area where the sun is.

I absolutely love this filter, it has changed the way I shoot sunsets and sunrises. The quality of the class is fantastic and it comes with a nice padded case. This filter is perfect for flat horizons when the sun is right on at the horizon. I would definitely reccommend this filter.

Good quality filter. Came with leather pouch so it is one class higher than my hitech and LEE filters. There is no comparison to this reverse GND since there is no other make.

Comments about Singh-Ray Daryl Benson 4x6" Reverse Neutral Density Graduated Filter (3-stop):
I use it with a Canon 17-40mm and 10-22mm lens on a EOS-7D, no vignette even with a ultra wide lens because it's large enough (4"x6").
Perfect neutral grey, no color cast.
Very nice effect for sunset/sunrise.
what else do you want? maybe a lower price.
Buy one if you can affort it. No regrets, pure JOY !

Comments about Singh-Ray Daryl Benson 4x6" Reverse Neutral Density Graduated Filter (3-stop):
I use the Singh-Ray reverse grad nd filter for my landscape photography. The larger 4x6 filter allows you to easily handhold it over your lens without the worry of accidentally getting a finger in your image. This is especially helpfull when using super wide angle lenses. This filter will greatly improve your images when shooting sunrise/sunsets photos.
