This Impact Diffuser Sock is a heat-resistant (*), 16" nylon fabric light softener ringed with strong elastic for a snug fit around metal strobe head reflectors. The diffuser softens the light output and reduces it by 1 stop.
Diffuser Socks are stackable, offering the opportunity to increase the diffusion effect while reducing the light output. Additionally, gel filters, cut to size, can be placed between stacked Diffuser Socks for creative applications.

The light is bright enough for the reason I bought it (background fill light). Doesn't increase the temperature of the room like incandescent bulbs. Also worked for illuminating subject, though I plan to use the Octacool kit for that.
Did arrive slightly bent, which required me to finagle the scoop a little, but it wasn't a huge issue. It's very light weight, which is great, but I wouldn't dream of using this kit for rough environments. Probably best used in a studio.
