An internal DSP processor provides a selection of reverb, delay and chorus effects. A 3-band EQ section is featured on all channels and globally switched +48V phantom power is supplied to condenser microphones. Comments about Peavey PV6 USB Live Sound Mixer with 6 Channels with USB and Effects Processor:
Nice mixer, however, Peavey made the mistake of designing the Power pack that is identical in appearence to their PV6. But, the PV6 power pack will go into the PV6U mixer. One is AC and the other is DC. Not knowing this, I plugged the wrong pack into PV6U and blew it up. The replacement part is twice as much as the entire mixer.

Nice compact product great for semi-mobile A/V setup. All the essential functionality - hook up multiple mics, connect to laptop or iPod for music, record sound via USB connection to computer - simultaneously.

Comments about Peavey PV6 USB Live Sound Mixer with 6 Channels with USB and Effects Processor:
I teach a class that has a dozen students around a table, and half a dozen attending 'remotely' over the internet. I needed for the remote folks to hear the main speaker and the room discussion, but the computer's USB port could only recognize one mic at a time. I got this to be able to run multiple miss at once. I've used it only once so far for this purpose, but it worked easily and well, though one mic's output was low (likely not the mixer's fault). It is well made, solid, straightforward. I wish it had channel inserts (for a compressor) but that is minor, given the price.

Every now and again when I set up at various locations, it picks up feedback from other devices in the area. Static, radio stations, etc.

Comments about Peavey PV6 USB Live Sound Mixer with 6 Channels with USB and Effects Processor:
I've been a very loyal Peavey products user for ten years now, however I will be the first to say when something they make is cheesy. My best advice on purchasing any gear is research, and join the online forums for that product. A review here is not merit enough to replace doing your homework.
***First thing, there IS NO EFFECTS PROCESSOR built into this mixer, HOWEVER IT DOES HAVE AN EFFECTS LOOP TO ACCOMMODATE ONE
All metal chassis and definitely road worthy. I use as a sub mixer to a larger FOH mixer and use the USB input from my laptop for DJ gigs.
One thing to point out is the phantom power is only 15 volts, not 48 volts like most mixers. Its a minor issue and will power your average DI box or condenser mic no problem.
Another minor note too, the USB versions of the PV series mixers use DC power supplies. the NON USB mixers use AC power supplies. If you mix these up you will damage your mixer.
The USB function I don't know why people have trouble with this. I run Win Vista 64 bit and no issues. Win7 works well too. You can only input 2 channels (stereo) and your computer will see the mixer as an external sound card.
I've read, older versions of operating systems lack the proper drivers to operate the mixer, in that case one would have to upgrade their OS. There are no manufacturer specific "Peavey drivers" available but the issue lies with an outdated "generic sound card" driver on your PC.
And for those with laptops, if its noisy/static when you have the mixer connected, and you have your AC power supply connected, that's why. Switching power supplies do not play well but a work around this would be to operate on battery power.
Again do your research and be an informed buyer.

Comments about Peavey PV6 USB Live Sound Mixer with 6 Channels with USB and Effects Processor:
I did a lot of research looking for a mixer to supply 4 microphones with phantom power. This was the least expensive unit I could find. It has exceeded my expectations. It works great, it's really small but still easy to use. I highly recommend it.

Have problems with recording a mix via USB on computer. Inadequate instructions for an "electronic dummy". Hopefully I will be able to utilize it fully in the near future.

Comments about Peavey PV6 USB Live Sound Mixer with 6 Channels with USB and Effects Processor:
This is a tough review for me since B&H was asking about a product that I ended up having to return to them--all three that I purchased. Now, that should tell you something! I liked the PV6 so much after buying one that I ended up purchasing three more. Unfortunately, the three I purchased had one minor problem with a squeal coming through the same two channels. It was a consistent problem shared by all three units that suggests to me that Peavey's quality control might have been unavailable for this particular manufacturing run. Oh well, that's what repair departments and warranty services are for, right? Since we were using big mixer boards for small PA setups anyway (we inherited old stuff), the PV6 came in as a far better solution for portable sound reinforcement and mixing. The added feature of being able to connect to a laptop for recording or other features was a nice bonus!
