This Sony Bravia 52" KDL-52XBR9 TV replaced a 1994 27" Sony KV 27V55.I expect this new flat screen LCD will give trouble free service for 15 years too. The color is fantastic and with the cable HD 1080 the picture looks like 3-D. It is just spectacular color. The set up and controls are easy. I purchased as a big discounted Sony bundle with the Sony Blu-ray/Home Theater BDV-E300 and a Blu-ray BDP-S360. The theater sound is wonderful and realistic. I compared all Sony models at the Sony Store and the XBR9 was the best Sony picture side by side with three lower models. Football, Golf & Basketball games are just indescribable clear. The motion is great with the 240hz.[...] I cannot wait for the Football Bowls to begin.

I give this lcd one star for having a wonderful color and refresh rate, but I have heavy clouding on the screen and it is very noticeable when I am viewing movies in a dark room and when dark sceens are playing. This is a huge problem as you can imagine. I would do your homework before spending as much money as I did and not getting the quality you want.

Our new home theatre, replacing a 26-year-old Sony
XBR. I've done a ton of research. I lusted after
sets costing more than twice as much, as I'm very
picky. But I was watching this Sony in a store one
day, and it dawned on me that while a few other
sets have (slightly) better picture quality, this
one will be more than good enough for me. The
minute improvements in much more expensive sets
are barely noticable, and only under perfect
conditions.

First tv in 10 years and we're loving it. Colors are beautiful and realistic, blacks are black and whites are white. Tennis and football look great: the motionblur feature must be working perfectly because there"s absolutely no streaking or blurring I was concerned about with the LCD.[...] I'd definitely buy from B&H again.
