It fits and looks ok but it just wont work for who knows why why would B7H sell something that doesnt work it might work for anything BUT video who knows just dont buy it I plugged it in fine and IMovie wont recognize my camera

This adapter I bought I thought would work w/ my 24 inch IMAC bought last year-2009. Adapter fits my firewire connection, yet imovie doesn't recognize the video input source. Maybe I need the actual cable.

an item of this type is important for the new macs that do not have a 400 firewire and most externals are 400. however this device does not work. I am hopeful that the same version in a cord will work

It doesn't work. We have tried to use this adapter on multiple different firewire configurations in both the front and back ports of our G5's and none of them recognize. Don't spend the money. Use the money for an actual cable.
