The Europower EP4000 from Behringer is a professional-quality rack mount stereo power amplifier designed for installed applications. The rugged all-steel chassis houses a high-current toroidal transformer and Toshiba/Fairchild power transistors for rock-solid reliability and an ultra-high transient response.
The rear panel of the unit has both XLR and 1/4" inputs, and Speakon and Binding Post outputs, allowing you to connect to virtually any sound system. The system has rear-to-front ventilation to keep the components cool. Protection circuitry protects the unit against overheating and DC overload.
The amplifier also has independent limiters to prevent distortion, front-panel gain controls for each channel, selectable LF filters to reduce hum, and LED lights for monitoring power, signal, and clip status.

Comments about Behringer Europower EP4000 Professional Stereo Power Amplifier (750W/Channel @ 8 Ohms):
It is frustrating to see a breaker on an amp which indicates the maximum power draw is less than 1800W, yet the manufacturer advertises 4 ohms bridged load at 2400W RMS. Simple thermodynamics will tell you this amp must be well under 1000W. I used it to attempt to drive one and then two buttkickers, with very poor results. I didn't have balanced inputs, but I did follow wiring directions for unbalanced input. Then Guittamer finally came through on their backorders and I was able to get the original buttkicker amp- wow what a difference!! This may work well for speakers, but gets a minimal rating from me for very false advertising. Power in > RMS output power, else it is a lie.

Comments about Behringer Europower EP4000 Professional Stereo Power Amplifier (750W/Channel @ 8 Ohms):
I already own two EP2500's, so it was no surprise that the EP4000 was all of that and more. I run a couple of Peavey 18" bass bins wired in series with the amp in bridged mono mode. Built like a tank, quiet, with plenty of power and headroom to spare. This was a perfect addition to my rig. I would also like to note that they changed the color from the 2500's, the new case is a dark charcoal gray, not black like the originals. No big deal, but it's hard to see that in the photos.

Comments about Behringer Europower EP4000 Professional Stereo Power Amplifier (750W/Channel @ 8 Ohms):
I was surprised by the performance and quality of the EP 4000. I have used Crowns, QSC, and Peavey in the past. I purchased this for under $400 and was skeptical. The reviews for the EP4000 were all positive, but I was determined not to be swayed by the reviews. The amp weighs over 50lbs, that means that it is made for heavy duty use. When I powered it up, it was quiet -no humming- and provided ample power for the 15in JBL cabinets and crystal clear. I put this amp through the test for two weeks straight, and it still sounds and works great. I will buy another EP4000 soon.

I have used a variety of amps-Crown,QSC, and Peavey-over the years, and I am impressed with punch the EP 4000 delivers for the money. It is quiet and the sound is clear. It weighs over 50lbs, but it is heavy duty and reliable. Put it through the test for two weeks straight and it has not failed. I will be buying another EP 4000 soon.
