Flip Video Ultra Camcorder (Yellow)
The Flip Video Ultra Camcorder (Yellow) is easy to use, and free from the sticker shock of more traditional camcorders. There are no complicated menus or settings to navigate and no delicate media to worry about. With basic functions and a fixed focus lens all you need to do is point the camera and shoot. It's that simple.
The Ultra features a 4GB internal flash memory that can hold up to 120 minutes of standard definition, full VGA, 30fps MPEG4 video. A 2" LCD display provides a platform on which to compose and playback your footage, while easy to understand controls keep recording simple. Controls include: record, playback, pause, fast-forward, rewind, zoom, and delete.
The footage you capture is recorded in an Internet friendly format, meaning that it's ready to share online without any fuss. When you're done shooting connect the flip out USB arm to your computer and let the built-in FlipShare software guide you through the process of posting to social networking sites, editing, emailing, and more.

I use this tiny camera to shoot as I ride my bicycle, giving a pro "traveling" effect to my home movies. Super compact, super cute, dead easy to use so you can keep an eyes on where you're going as you are shooting. It's the perfect first movie camera if you want to send movies to your friends via Youtube. Fits in a pocket and combined with the rechargeable battery pack you get plenty of filming time. The quality is sharp and night shooting is real easy and of good quality too. I wish I had known about it earlier: just to think of all these moments I've missed filming in the last couple of years...

I have bought Flips as gifts for just about everyone, and this one was a graduation present for my niece. It ended up by being the perfect gift: it was small enough to fit in her bag and she took it to the prom. As a MAC user, she was easily able to download her files- now what she does with those is up to her, but it seemed easy enough to import to imovie. Everyone was impressed by the USB connection. I personally have an HD version and the picture quality amazes me. At this price point, these make the perfect graduation, bar/bat mitzva or birthday gifts.

I wanted to get an inexpensive video camera for a family trip. After doing some research, I chose the flip video ultra and it's been great. I received the camera within a few days, and it is quite easy to use. I didn't have any problems installing the software on my laptop (as others have), so maybe they have addressed that problem.
Most of my shoots so far have been close up, so the sound has been adequate. The video is very good, and the camera itself is stylish and easy to carry. Definitely pleased with B&H and my flip video!
