Purchased primarily for travel, but found that it's great around the house too. Very compact and light, but it does not give up much in performance for most every-day tasks. I was concerned about the 1gb RAM, but have not noticed any issues even while running multiple windows applications. I'm glad it came with xp over vista, but may upgrade to windows 7 later. The built-in wireless-n is a great feature too. Battery life is so nice letting you go untethered for over 5 hours.

So lightweight and inexpensive, yet perfectly functional. Other than being misled about the fact that Microsoft Office is only a demo and not installed, a great buy. I'm sure it was in the fine print, but facts like that should be easier to come by.

I use this product only for internet surfing and if I have a meeting and need a file with me this computer is great. Working for too long on it causes me a bit of a headache but It's great for work on the road.

This netbook is great. I updated mine to Windows 7 and it is great. The only downside is that some of the functions don't work on Windows 7. It has amazing battery life and can multi task quite good.

Pros:
- The product is very small as announced. It is very good to carry from a place to another.
- Looks very nice.
- Connections (wifi bluetooth) work great.
Cons:
- touchpad is very sensitive and easy to mess up your navigation.
- I have problems with the keyboard configuration. It sometimes doesn´t work as suppoesed for each key.
In general I liked it and would recommend to a friend.

The 1008HA is a nice little machine. Good keyboard, nice trackpad and clear, bright screen. No complaints in its use. However I do have the memory upgraded to 2 GB which is pretty much essential when working with RAW files. The only issue I have is the difficulty in upgrading the memory. Because of the design, there is no door on the bottom of the machine to switch the memory like other EEE PCs. It requires the machine to be completely disassembled and unless you want to void your warranty you have to take the computer into a ASUS service centre. I was told the labour would cost [$] (in Australia) which kind of defeats the purpose of a low cost PC.[...] If I bought again I would get the 1005 HA. Almost the same as the 1008HA but you can easily upgrade the memory. I would definitely recommend the 1005HA.
