For various reasons I wanted to avoid a Ipod if I could help it and when I stumbled upon this, it looked to good to be true. 8 gigs of memory, a sleek design and a touch screen all for the same price (or less) than the 8 Gig Nano!
The P3 supports a large number of file formats and has great audio quality. But do your self a huge favor and ditch the supplied earbuds.
The 3in touch screen is very crisp, clear and bright, well surpassing what you get on Ipods.
To be fair though, the touch screen is a little quirky and takes getting used to (the newest firmware really helps) but for the most part I don't have any problems. You will however, want to get a screen protector, as it does smudge easily.
The battery life is said to be 30+ hours for music, 5+ for video. So far that seems to be about right. I've had mine for about a month and only had to charge it twice.
All things considered and knowing what I know now, I wish I had bought mine sooner. Its few flaws are easily outweighed by its excellent audio quality and vivid touch screen. I would and have recommend this to anyone who will listen. An easy 9.5 out of 10.

If you are an expert at little known software and firmware, then this is the item for you.

Samsung P3 is the updated version of the very good mp3 player Samsung P2. I was a little bit skeptical about buying Samsung P3 my previous mp3 player was Sony and after it broke I thought that I will not find something that could be as good as Sony was. But when I started using Samsung P3 I was pleasantly surprised. OK let's start with the design and build quality. When I opened the box the first thing that I noticed about the device that it looks very good it's very stylish and sleek and build with good materials. The design itself is sterile big screen few buttons on top that is all. Player made with aluminum it has really nice brushed finish, the screen is covered with material that reminds me hardened glass similar to some watches. This glass protects screen really well. By mistake few days ago I put Samsung P3 in the pocket with keys and walked like this almost all day, no scratches!!! The screen colors are bright and vivid, under direct sunlight the screen loses some of it's brightness but it is still very easy to read. Videos and pictures look great. But I won't recommend it for watching videos the screen is on the small size! The touch screen is responsive it took few hours to get used but I never used touch screen player before. The touch screen can be adjusted very easy it vibrates every time you touch it, this vibration really helps a lot but if you don't like it, it can be easily turned off. So overall user interface is really simple and friendly and it won't take a lot of time to get used to it. THE SOUND!!! This is interesting part I am not an audiophile but sound is really important for me. My music library is in very high quality and I am using expensive earphones with balanced armature driver. What can I tell you the Samsung P3 sounds really well. Sound is very detailed and crisp with adjustable EQ it can be adjusted to any personal preferences. Player supports many advanced audio formats so you will be very pleased with sound. OK overall it is great device for a low price it support many audio formats, battery life is very good around 30 hours (listening to music). This is a solid choice for really good price, for the price of the iPod Touch you can buy this great device and pair of good headphones trust me you will be really pleased!

Easy to set up, yet initially the controls are a bit overwelming. Eventually you can get the hang of it. The Bluetooth feature was dissapointing. Pairing the device with a bluetooth headset was seamless however the audio quality was poor. The audio quality with a wired headset / earbuds was better. If your main need is for a bluetooth communication / player I would not recommend it.

I was looking for a mp3 player with bluetooth for work. No wires to catch on equipment. Easy to use and lots of room for music. Very easy to load songs from my computer with included emodio software. I like the touch screen. Only problem I have is the hold button can be triggered accidentally if you don't use a case when carried in a pocket.

I use this product with my car speakers, Koss PortaPro Headphones (EXCELLENT headphones for [$]...sounds like those 200 dollar headphones you listen to in stores) and with any external speakers laying around.This player is excellent. The volume range is good, with a good soft end for 'quiet' listening and it gets loud when you want it to.I won't tell you what you can already read from Samsung's website, but:The sound quality is great. The aluminum construction is sleek and solid. The screen is beautiful and does not scratch easily. The touch screen sometimes does not respond when I click, but that only happens on occasion. It is very pocketable and while widgets aren't the most useful they are fun, as well as the included games for burning time. Movie/audio format support is awesome.It is not compatible with iTunes, but you can drag and drop files with a Mac OS (make sure you go into the settings and switch the P3 to the USB Storage Device mode. <---that's not the actual title of the option...you'll have to look that up since i forgot :P).

I compared the sound to the ipod classic and the sound on this p3 is more punchy with a great EQ and EQ settings to keep anyone happy. You will really notice how nice this P3 sounds if you pair it with a pair of good headphones and I'm not taking ear buds hear. This P3 is worthy of good headphones to really hear it's sweet sound.Conclusion: All reviews raved about this product - it's hardware is solid! construction is Solid! Not so great-yet still very Good!: Touch screen is not as sensitive or as responsive as the Ipod touch screen but it is 100.00 less. I waited until I found an mp3 player that would do most things I would use. This product has bluetooth which I use cardo s2 headphones and it sounds great. The screen doesn't scratch easily because of it being hardend glass. The software used to load movies and mp3's tool took a little getting use to but it does the job.
