Okay, I'll admit it. I'm already a fan of Samsung MP3 Players. I previously owned the YP2, and bought my sons each a YP-S3, a YP-U3, and a YP-K3 and have been pleased with each of the purchases.
When I lost my P2, I replaced it with the P3, and was thrilled with the new upgrade! The P3 plays DivX movies flawlessly - the picture is clear, and the controls work well. The sound is fantastic as always, the battery time is far superior to the IPod equivelant (and, without the annoying ITunes application!), and the touch screen applications are fun. The only criticism I have is that the touch screen controls can be a bit "touchy" at times, and that there isn't a decent search feature for songs, etc.
Other than that, I'd recommend this player anytime, to anyone.

I downloaded about 120 CD's to this player using Windows media player, and used about half of the disk space. It is so easy to use, and the sound is fantastic. The touch screen is fun and easy to use. The ear phones don't fit in my ears as well as I like. They easily fall out. I like ear buds better. Its video capabilities should be fun to try out, too. The software program that comes with it is useful for organizing folders.

Touch screen is very responsive. Screen has a crisp clear picture. Sound is AWESOME! and the EQs just make it even better! you never heard anything like it! recordings are clear. haven't used the flash player yet but excited that it has one. i'm not sure about the battery life yet but it charges fully pretty fast. the widgets are pretty cute too. overall great for music, videos, and pictures.

I agree with most reviews that state the haptic interface is a bit touchy. The sound quality is bar none. I can't believe how incredible this thing sounds out of the box. And for [$] and 16 gigs you can't beat that deal! Ignore the software they provide and use rhapsody or something like that. Battery life is good as far as I can see.

When I was researching this player, a majority of the reviews were positive, but it also seemed to be a love it or hate it player. Well, I've been using the YP-P3 for about a two weeks now and I am very happy I ignored some really silly people writing negative reviews. Generally, I am not a fan of touch screen technology, but this is the best use of it that I've ever seen on any device, mp3 or otherwise. It has absolutely outstanding sound quality and supports FLAC files which was a real selling point for me. There is a bit of a learning curve for some of the touch screen stuff, but 2 weeks later I'm already used to it. I think a lot of negative reviews on this are coming from people using the software, but the entire idea of not using windows explorer to navigate the folders to drag and drop your music/pictures/video is ridiculous. I would have appreciated a better mic for the recording function and think it's a little cumbersome that the headphones plug into the bottom, rather than the top of the player, but these are minor issues. Really, this is a PC-friendly iPod killer.

I use this mostly in my car or office. It's great for sound quality, finding music is pretty easy. It's hardwearing - evne my clumsy daughter hasn't been able to break it yet.
The only issue is the included software for music sorting - EmoDio. It is erratic at loading your music library properly, it struggles with albums compilation albums. It's not very stable as a program, crashing at various points as I sorted out the library back to something resembling normality. The software also wants to go and get new song title and album artwork despite the fact this is all available on the computer - time consuming and annoying.

I purchased this MP3 as to use on Mac, Windows, and Ubuntu machines. I needed a player that was cross platform and handled lots of file types. The P3 has met my expectations in all these areas.
It sounds awesome, much better than my iPod. The video playback is great and handles videos converted by Handbrake with ease. Battery life is very good too.
The interface is not super intuitive, but not too difficult to figure out. If you want something dead simple stick with an iPod. If you like flexibility and don't mind organizing your files manual, this is a great player for you.

This is a great product from Samsung. First off let me just say that the sound quality is BEAST. Defiantly beats the iPod Touch in sound quality especially with the Dnse sound engine.Also watching videos on the bright 3" inch screen is great. And it plays many video codec MP4, AVI, DIVX, XvID, etc. PPlus with periodic firmware updates this player just keeps getting better and faster. And other plus side is that the updates are 100% free. I would strongly recommend this player to anyone who wants a touch screen player with much storage (16GB) for cheap. A 16GB itouch cost $300+. This player cost $200 and has better sound quality. C0me on it a no brainer.

Pros:
I love the look of this MP3 Player. The sound quality is VERY high, the screen looks really good when watching movies, videos, etc. I've never owned an iPod, but I have used a couple of my friends iPods, Nano 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th gen. iPhone 3rd gen, and for the price of the P3 it's DEFINITELY better than any Nano (Unless you want the accelerometer). And the only thing the Touch has over it is screen size, and WiFI. Now WiFi IS a big difference and some people might say the Touch is worth the extra cost for that. But if you're looking for an MP3 player, this is, in my opinion, the best option available.
Cons: Only three cons, all of them small. The first is when you select a artist/album/song, it highlights what you are selecting, but every once and a while it highlights the selection and doesn't actually select it, so you might have to press it again. It could be because I have a screen protector on it though. And the second is with the back button in the music menu. To go back to main menu you press and hold it for a second or two. To go back one step, (back to the song selection screen). But sometimes if you just press it once, quickly, it will go all the way back to the main menu. In which case you have to go back to the song selection by going to Music/Artist/Album. Not that big of a deal but annoying when you're trying to do something quickly. The Third is there's no expansion slot for Micro SD so there's no making this bigger than 16GB.
Overall: The best MP3 player on the market for it's price and quality as strictly an MP3 player, and even as a Multifunction MP4 player.

Everyone who sees my P3 is amazed by the graphics and picture quality. The new firmware is easy to download and adds many new and fun features. The sound is pretty good through the tiny speaker, but is really good through headphones. The only thing that I don't like about the player is what a pain it is to get the album art to show up on the player. Emodio is the problem, not the player, but there are ways around it....I am just not tech saavy enough to figure it out, so I added each cover individually. The nice part is that once it's done, it's fabulous! Go ahead and get one...you will be so glad you did!!!
