The PR 28 from Heil Sound is a professional-quality dynamic microphone ideal for use with drums. The mic has a large dynamic element with a cardioid pickup pattern to reject off-axis noise. A shock mount inside the mic's die-cast alloy body provides excellent isolation for the mic element. The mic offers a wide frequency response, with a +4dB rise around 4kHz to improve the presence of tom drums without needing outboard EQ.
The PR 28 comes with the patent-pending HH-1 tom drum mounting system. The HH-1 is specially designed to mount onto a head mount rim or most mounting rings on a tom drum. The completely adjustable design keeps it out of the way for drumming, while still picking up the best possible sound.
Designed for a wide variety of applications, the PR 22 dynamic microphone from Heil Sound can be used to mic anything from vocals to snare drums. Heil has developed the patent-pending IsoBand technology, which uses a Sorbothane rubber suspension system in order to eliminate low frequency handling noise. The mic uses a special low-mass NdFeB diaphragm and a large voice coil assembly to provide exceptional performance, including a cardioid pickup pattern with excellent off-axis rejection.
The mic produces a very linear pattern, and reduces proximity effect. It can also be used in extremely high sound pressure applications, and is virtually immune to overload conditions. A leatherette carrying bag, mic clip, and 3 metal windscreens (black, silver, and gold) are included.
