The 24" 4GB / 1TB model with full size keyboard is definitely the best bang for your buck deal right now. Love the enormous screen, although I have to sit back a bit further than I'm used to just to take it all in. Really not a fan of the high gloss finish -- the only bruise on this otherwise gorgeous Apple. After using a high-res 17" Macbook Pro with the same 1920x1200 resolution, I was expecting this screen to be squinty-small, but I was surprised to find it quite readable and even wishing they had packed in a few more pixels. We ordered this one and a newer 20" model with the compact keyboard, and I find the new compact keyboard very annoying, it was hard to adjust to the layout even though I use a laptop keyboard regularly. Get the full size while you still can. Given the minor price difference between the two sizes, I would definitely advise getting the larger screen, especially if you will ever watch movies on the beautiful screen.
Love my Mac. This is my first computer that i have purchased on my own. :) I love everything about it.

I do a lot of work with photos and spreadsheets, plus I simply spend a great deal of time on the internet. This computer is so much faster than my old PC which was running windows.I no longer get frustrated with the slow uploads and continous popups. Not one single popup on my new IMac.Not one single lockup and having to reboot.I often download as many as 1400 photos at a time and my Mac handles them extremely fast and efficiently. The IPhoto program is super nice, much better than Elements7 which I had been using.I purchased a new photo printer recently and was very upset with the performance of it,especially since it was a very expensive printer and had received great reviews. After installing it on my new Mac,which was very easy, I immediately notice a huge increase in the speed and efficiency of my printer.I was amazed that a computer would make that much difference in the performance of a printer.I was somewhat apprehensive about switching to Leopard and having to learn a new operating system at my age.I won't tell how ancient I am but when I first started playing with computers you had to boot them up with a 5 1/4 inch floppy and have an extensive knowledge of ms dos commands............( copy A to B ) ( LMAO) But the Mac is very user friendly and easy to learn. So I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. My only complaint with my Mac was the fact that it didn't come loaded with IWork so I had to purchase it in order to have word processing and spreadsheet programs.I give it a 98 out of a 100,way to go Apple.
I've been using a mac for a 2 years and i've never defragment the drive. It still works like new. I can't do the same on a pc, it just gets slower and slower even without installing anything programs on it. Just web surfing most of the time. In the long run, it's a lower cost of ownership for me owning a mac than a pc. If i need a specific program that only works on a pc, i'll just use bootcamp or VMware.
