It is a way of creating a custom white balance however I still prefer a 18% Grey Card.

I have used Vivicap in both indoor and outdoor settings. I used the filter to set my white balance when shooting my Granddaughters volleyball games, It gave me better skin tones on the players and the background colors matched what I was shooting. I also used it when I was shooting a friends family. I shot them in front of their fireplace and the rich earth tones of the bricks was amazing, the colors seemed warmer.
Outdoors I used the filters to set up the camera when I was shooting some pomogranites on a tree, I usually have to adjust the temperature and tint sliders on elements to get richer colors and with the Vivicap there was no adjustments.
I like the fact that it is designed like a lens cap. I can leave it on my lens all the time so it is always handy when I need it. With other models they have to be screwed on like a lens filter, the Vivicap is much easier.
I haven't owned this product for to long and so far I have yet to find any faults with it. For the money paid I would recomend this product to any beginning or advanced photographer, it's great.

The biggest issue I have is that the filter cover is hard to remove from my lens. There are still occasions where I still have to adjust WB in lightroom after using this product.

I use this product all the time and it saves me hours in post processing with color correction. I have a Digital Grey Card and Expodisc also , and this product is the most affordable and easiest to carry around and use. Fantastic product and a fantastic price. The results are on par with my other tools used to measure white balance. I do wish the had incorporated a better clip system to attach the cap.
