Started failing after 3000 hours of use. Being replaced under warranty. Noticed the system was much hotter after install. Back up often!!!!

I replaced my original 80 gb, with this fast 7200 rpm Seagate. Because it's a fast 7200 rpm 16mb cache instead of the standard 5400 rpm 8 mb cache, it is not %100 silent but, you can barely hear it in a quiet room. Not even loud enough to be annoying at all. I have to put my ear up to the computer to hear it. But this is an acceptable trade off for the extra speed. If you need %100 silence and absolute zero vibration then I suggest choosing a 5400 rpm model. Because you will never add an extra 1800 rpm's and have it be undetectable. This is a high performance enterprise class hard drive, for the enthusiast. It also has free fall detection[it parks the head before laptop hits the ground] and a 5 year warranty, instead of the standard 3 year.

I just installed to my macbook pro and It's works fine and more faster compared to my original installed hard drive, but i can feel the vibration when the disk spin and it also will get warm unlike the original.I'm afraid that this hard drive will not last long.:-(
